Witcher School Gear 1 Portal

I'm just curious as to whether you can deactivate the portal once the quest is complete (the portal at the watchtower for witcher school gear part 1). It's just now that I've done it, the portal is still there, which means there is a huge glowing green circle in the sky by the tower that just spoils the view and I'm hopinh there is a way to get rid of it. Anyone know if it is possible?

it's during the witcher school gear 1 quest. its in the watchtower, 1 gem is already in the wall, 1 is on the outside by some scaffolding.

The OP needs to be more specific on which of the witcher gear quest he is referring to. If you mean the portal from the "Wolven" gear quest at Kaer Morhen, then no, I don't believe there is any way to close it.

Where are you on the main quest? You can't get to Kaer Morhen (The "Witcher's School") until a certain point on the main quest. When you've reached it, you'll know how to get there.

I agree with OP - the green portal was there in all the battle scenes and was very distracting.
