Depends if the model is in the current game files, then yea you could just change the model over. If not, someone will have to design the texture.

according to the art book, there's much more than just exchange the texture... probably have to change the mesh... but it will be cool to have the previous geralt..

I am apologizing in case this information has been published already and available. One of main components of a modding tool set are exporters from 3D software packages (I guess in the case of this great game this is 3DS Max) and major template file (typical meshes, skinned character models, animation biped templates etc.).Unreal series has 3DS Max exporters, template Max file as well as an exporter plugin for the free version of Maya PLE. Freedom Force (Irrational) is another good example in this respect of excellent support of the modders community. Morrowind (3DS Max exporter/animation templates), Quake, Half-life (XSI tools) are other examples. So, my question: Is it planned that this sort of tools (exporters, mesh/animation template file) will be included in the coming release of the Witcher Toolset or planned some times in the future. I am embarrassed to ask about importer plugin. I am sure that developers are aware that sooner or later importer/exporter plugin will be created by talented modders-programmers.Making these tools available would for sure boost “The Witcher” modding community.Thank you. :)

I'm sure there has to be some importer/exporters available in Djinni if they imported all assets from 3D Studio Max. If these are the pro tools, almost a guarantee there will be the tools needed for these purposes. But would have to get confirmation from CDProjekt on this. Just an educated guess here.

Did they get in sh*t for using the name "toolset"?Or else does anybody know why they had to postpone its release (I know its mainly legal reasons, but what exact reasons?)

You'd be surprised....well probably not.....the level of red tape for the US. If I were to make an educated guess, some politician is getting a bad feeling in his mouth because the tool allows poor, defenseless 10 year olds to access nude models. So he's threatening World War III.Because you know, only 10 year olds play video games, and even though the game is Mature, these places are selling the game to kids. All the countless market information on many websites and major research firms is all conspiracies and it's all false. And don't worry, if Hillary Clinton takes over for Bush, expect it to get worse.

Oh I think Obama will do fine. But Hillary Clinton has already been blaming video games for plenty of issues.http://www.senate.gov/~clinton/news/statements/details.cfm?id=240603http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article438332.ecehttp://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/24/rumor-hillary-clinton-preps-for-video-game-tax/This stuff will only make ESRB ratings even tougher for where the real age group of gaming is - adults.

Actually while republicans also like to pick on games, it is mostly the democrats that do so...If by mess you mean war than yea its republicans...If you mean the economy then Bush had a hand in it but mostly thank the Clintons for selling most US jobs to China, Bush just killed the few jobs that were left...I don't care if Obama or Mcain take over as long as it isn't Hillary...

We've built all 3D assets in Maya and imported to 3DS format. So far, everything is working fine. Still waiting for Djinni to see how to import in.

When they said the Djinni was coming out in the last week of march, did they mean the last full week or the last partial week of march? If it was the last full week, it should be out by now. Otherwise Monday... I somehow think we aren't going to see it for a while still.EDIT: Well, its Monday afternoon and its still not out... :(

Hang in there, it'll be out soon enough. And that will be the end of everyone's free time as everyone learns Djinni and builds some amazing mods. :)
