Wolf School Gear Bug?

So I went to the signal tower to start collecting Wolf School gear. However I cannot pick up the second portal crystal. From reading posts on other sites it's my understanding this bug occurs if it is not you very first time visiting Kaer Morhen. Is this correct as I don't really wish to start over? I have tried several reloads and it's the same thing every time, I can't pick up the crystal.

Disregard, took about a dozen reloads but I finally picked up the second crystal.

This is better than me at least. For like 30 minutes I was trying to activate it up on the ledge instead of picking it up!!!

Could not pick it up first, but then I just saved the game and returned to main menu. After reloading the game I was able to pick it up.

deleted orginal post due to user dumbness.

anyhoo, problem was that the crystal on wall wasn't getting the red highlight until I was right up in that thing. Less than ideal, but still doable. I'll be glad when this thing's over.
