That's my takeaway too.

The graphics are stunning, the OST/soundtrack is great, the VAs are great, the story is really good so far. It's really great and impressive from a technical and artistic POV (ignoring bugs). But...

... it feels hollow. Its like there is a foundation but the details are missing, the nuance. A lot of mechanics that should be standard are not in there. A lot of elements that should be a no-brainer for an RPG when it comes to customizability, ineraction with the world, chaning your style, seeing your style regularily in mirrors or glass or whatever, transmog vs. gear stats, basic stealth elements, retrievable (throwing)knifes, even some of the keybinds and mechanics that have been standard in the industry for years are just handled weirdly. And yea, a lot of waste-of-space. Restaurants and shops are cool, but only if I can actually interact with them, immerse myself. I don't need to buy a coffee if I don't even get an animation for it. Might as well buy 20 of them. But a real RPG lets you walk up, but the cofee, sit down and drink it there. These little things go a long way. I don't like to say it, but even though it's not an RPG, Deus Ex (the original) was a better RPG for it's time than this in many areas.

I feel like I just bought the Players Handbook for DnD 5e, but a portion of the content is missing, and there are no modules out for it yet. A lot of potential and setup, the construct is there, but there is no substance (aside from the story itself).

Same, I feel the same way like I felt earlier this year when I played Crusader Kings 3, another game I was very excited for. There is a solid foundation there(although quite buggy in Cyberpunk's case) but it feels like a lot is missing. Even such a simple thing as changing your haircut.

Firstly I must say that the game is great and I enjoy playing it very much, but more and more I am playing I cant shake that one big dissapointment or issue I have with the game and thats that the world just not seem interactive enough and its really shame cause it has so much potential and unused opportunities in that area. I dont know I just thought it would be more interactive like GTA you know more specifically like GTA SA.

- All those food stands 24/7 or other shops around the game you cant interact with ... why you cant buy a hotdog or cofee or beer whatever then drink or eat it with some nice animation .. those are tiny things but it really adds immersion and life into the game
- Restaurants and bars ... sadly they are completely obsolete and not worth going in there, its just an inventory barter same as with the food machines and since all food gives same boost you just dont have to go there ever ... why you cant just sit around the bar or restaurant drink or eat something with some animations and chill you know maybe watch some strippers and give them some eddies you know
- Too few channels in TV and you cant interact with anything while browsing the web thats a shame ...
- No minigames (at least so far) there is also a lot of unused potential, i saw playing/gaming machines make them usable for in game gaming, pub games like darts or pool, hazard machines (also in game) maybe in game casino ?, there are shooting ranges at gun shops so why not make a minigame here to shoot for high score etc.
- Customizable cars (hope it will be added in some future DLC)
- What are those BDs for if you cant watch them? I still cant figure out why you can buy them them then? and whats the function of pawn shops cause you cant use almost anything he is selling and you can sell him everything you can sell to other vendors
- Too few prostitute/toys types ... I came only across two so far (one male, one female) and playing as male V I dont find the female version very atractive

Those are just few I can think of from the top of my head, feel free to add more if you think of any. I dont know after 8 years of development I just expected the world to be way more interactive and that there will be more things to do when you are not on a mission to just hang out you know.

But otherwise the game is great :)

How it can be improved? (probably wont, but hey a man can dream) Your thoughts?

There is a post on a CP2077 subreddit that captures a whole lot of points, some of which I agree to and some not, it's just somewhat sad that they made this promise of making an exceptional game and those came out to be somewhat empty. The list goes on about quality of life and has a whole lot of bullet points, it's compiled from pointers of different reddit users. maybe it's already been posted but I do feel that it deserves some attention. In honesty it's not a bad game, but at this time it does not really live up to all the hype and promises. Would've expected/wanted more from what they said. For those interested, got the link right here: (not my reddit post) https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kb22xs

Cyberpunk 2077 review impressions: Basking in neon Night City streets | PCWorld

We've spent over a dozen hours with Cyberpunk 2077, and we're in love with Night City's ray-traced neon streets.
www.pcworld.com www.pcworld.com

"Cars pack the streets in GTA-like fashion, though Cyberpunk 2077 features more intelligent driver AI that actually tries to stay out of your way. "

"It’s also been refreshingly bug-free so far. "

"CD Projekt Red had the weight of the world on its shoulders, but Cyberpunk 2077 delivers. I can’t think of a single significant complaint. "

agree, in a section it even says and I quote "Yes, GTA V’s streets are packed with people, but in Cyberpunk, the streets themselves feel alive." .... Anyway, they will be using mods that the rest of the community does not, we are still in the button to walk, at least say the reality, as defined by a user in another post here is a great deal with all the elements main but in white background, it remains to pray that it is not dysfunctional and that the community overturn, if it was done with skyrin and her "sillyengine" with it, miracles will be worked

Finally after 4 days was able to dl and play this game, the graphics are amazing but after that there is no interaction (shops minigames etc)

Im compraing it to the witcher 3 that in its prologue had more content that the 3 lifepaths combined...

I think the problem is that the Devs really needed more time

I never played Witcher 3, but there have been other games that I have played with more interactivity with the people for sure

I think there is a ton of potential for Cyberpunk 2077 in future updates, the Devs have the ground work laid out at this point so they just really need to expand on it and add more interactivity with the people and city

I really hope the Devs work more on this side of things

I've played ~15 hours now and tried the crafting for the first time.. Why on earth can we craft things on the fly without any time delay. Would be so much better if we have some dedicated equipment in our armory that produces stuff and requires time which varies depending on the amount of resources needed, quality etc...

Or maybe being able to craft things only in your apartment in the stash, that's basically useless unless you wanna store clothes...and that would be actually a reason to go back to your apartment if you have an appropiate tech level, or else you gotta go to the gun store or whatever. In W3 you had to go to craftmans to craft stuff, here you just shit guns on the street.

Thats a nice list, of course I dont agree or need all of the features there, some of them are somewhat unrealistic at this point (it would mean to recreacte big chunks of the game), but if they manage to add at least some of them it would be fantastic.

Also traffic needs a revamp ... I am not talking about AI now ... there is basically no traffic outside the city ... and whats weird is that when you going on the freeway or roads in badlands you sometimes see a lot of traffic and car lights in the distance but when you come closer they just dissapear ... it looks really weird

Either make the traffic more dense or get rid of those images of "dense traffic" in the distance.

Yep, After playing a tad bit more I can safely say that this is one of the most noninteractive, unresponsive open-world of this scale that I have played in the last decade, Even though it had a lot of competition in that department.

After promising the most immersive open-world to date, this is really not cutting it. It's closer to being the complete opposite of that.

We don't know if they'll have any incentive to work on that side of the game also, I'd like to get some sort of communication on this matter to see if I should wait until it gets better or if it's just not an ambition for the game anymore and move on

If you guys also want to share your thougts about improving the lets say not so good traffic in the game, here is another topic I created

forums.cdprojektred.com

Traffic need some serious rework

- Traffic AI is bad - When you move camera the whole traffic behind you just respawns - When you drive, the traffic in the distance are just some weird 2D objects which despawns and dissapear when you get closer (its not that obvious in the city but try go to badlands and you see what I am...
forums.cdprojektred.com forums.cdprojektred.com

It would be nice if it also get some attention so devs might see it and adress it

exactly what i thought, for it to be the game they promised, they would have to redo the whole thing... which is sad cuz i do actually believe in the devs and their work they put in it...

Agreed. The game lacks interactiveness. I expected to be able to explore the city, but there's really nothing to explore. It feels more like grinding (at least on higher difficulties), exploring the map instead of the city, with boring npc interactions, missing tiny touches that we loved so much in The Witcher 3 series. Say, why don't people react to the car horn? I'm with my car on a pavement, and want to drive off, but there's a lot of people there. I use my horn, and they don't give a damn. I slightly tap a gas button, and they suddenly start screaming and running away as if I drove into them. WTF?

A gun shop has a shooting range —why is there no any minigame, or even any reaction after I actually shoot a target? Aside from hiding my weapons for some reason, of course.

If I manage to save some people from a gang, they don't react. They don't thank me for saving them, they don't even run away. Why is there no reward for saving innocents? It's really hard to do on the highest difficulty. There should be some praise for that, at least.
Your post is exactly what I have been thinking. No reaction to car horn but instant-fear if you move the vehicle. Often times pedestrians actually jump into traffic or in-front of or behind the car. No thanks for saving would-be victims and on and on. Exactly my experience.

A very good foundation has been laid out. But a lot of opportunities missed and I hope CD brings more life to the game. There are overwhelming details but too focused on the main story.
What is required: Introdce these tiny perks into the game and make it more immersive.
What may be required: Fans will pay for DLC that will not just extend another story but add more of these interactive perks

I totally agree, what this game needs the most ist an interactivty/immersion features DLC, no new weapons or BS or even stories... its unbelievable shallow and boring as it is now....would have not bought the game if i would have known before but i never thought this would be even more lacking in this respect as Witcher 3, which was already quiet poor in terms of immersion. We should go for a petitition, as for Witcher 3, they did not bring on anything in this regard with the DLC by themselves, so i fear this will have no priority. So sad!

I understand you're not really complaining, more so just wishing but comments like this in general show how spoiled and entitled gamers are now. Instead of appreciating this beautiful detailed open world future city, which has never been done before to this scale btw, we're talking about why we can't chill and eat lunch. I mean they have to delegate their time on things that matter, it already took them 8 years to make this game and it's not even really done now. You don't hear people saying stuff like this about assassin's creed valhalla or other open world games because they don't expect it from them. It's like the more time and detail a dev puts in the more we expect instead of appreciating what they did. The problem is some people let their hype meter grow way out of control for certain games and expect things the dev can never live up too. Expect their wildest dreams to become reality through a dev team with limited time and resources. I'm not really directing this towards you, I know you're not being bitter and still appreciate the game, just in general us gamers are so insanely spoiled and entitled now. That's why everyone complains non stop about even the greatest games. I would have killed to have this when I was a kid playing qbert on atari or castlevania on nintendo. As it stands this game is a dream come true for me, I've always wanted an explorable future city and I absolutely love this game glitches and downgrade aside.
