World is not interactive enough, thoughts?

Bothers me as well, but there are so many other things that are so annoying, like that lack of alternative control schemes and the lack of a third person view. I's only two days after launch and I'm already tired and urging to see my character build among others!!

I always crouch with R3 in any FP game. It's really getting me a bit out of the experience that I can't change that, and have to keep paying attention to that simple detail in combat.

To be fair, the 3rd person thing was pretty clear from the get-go. They said that pretty early. I would already be satisfied if I had a way to look at myself while standing around, or if there were more mirrors or reflecting glass surfaces (when you're on foot) showing your reflection.

You cannot integrate that level of immersion into a game environment such as this
  1. Game would become confusing - big city in the future? permitting every building/shop/housing access to enter would confuse the shit outtta the average person, even those who like sandbox because of easter eggs (not everyone navigates via minimap / main story line quests)
  2. The game would be 500 GB and exclude consoles - CD Projekt is a business and with next gen consoles out this year, thats huge chunk of revenue. Adding the aforementioned would increase file size 10x fold and not be feasible on consoles (avg player doesnt want 1 game taking up 1/2 the hard drive)

I don't think people were expecting to enter every building and talk to every NPC. But TW3 had a routine for most NPCs, and that game had big cities too. Not NC-sized, but still. Same goes for interactions and stuff like eating animations, sitting, parking spots, mini-games, roleplay opportunities, etc.

Nobody says its a bad game. For at least 6 years of development though (it was still in concept phase when they announced it), the lack of basic features and additions is astonishing in some areas. Just as much as the lack of detail shines in some others (mainly story, art and cityscape, OST, etc)

In Deus Ex, you can't buy from most shops, just like in CP.
But you at least can talk to the owners, and very often they will tell you interesting things about their shops. So adding minimal interactivity is not an unachievable rocket science. Deus Ex managed just fine, despite having arguably lesser budget. It doesn't have to be a unique line for every npc in the city, but having zero lines is a terrible approach.

- Too few prostitute/toys types ... I came only across two so far (one male, one female) and playing as male V I dont find the female version very atractive
Both have horrible designs! Male/Female.
I don't understand why they were chosen.
The game has some NPCs that would be better prostitute/toys.
Mateo, for example...

After killing so many gangbangers from one location to another rinse and repeat i need a breather, i want to enter some building and play a round of neon bowling
or play darts and pool, maybe after killing hundreds of enemies i want to spend time in Night City casino play slot machines and blackjack. Or even ability to play Arcade cabinet minigames for high score.

Agreed, the city feels nice to walk through but it needs more fun small stuff to do like the yakuza series. Even just the option to sit down on chairs when you want to would add to the game IMO. Also I am honestly disappointed with the shady stuff. There seem to be no drugs to take, no BDs to explore, very few sexual options and so on. Kinda annoying because it feels like playing a goody-twoshoes who is behaving less badly than everyone else in the world.
I wanna play a dirty motherfucker who is always high on uppers, not a boy scout.
Fortunately the game is moddable so I'm sure in a year or so we will have some fun content added by the community.
Yeah, I really did expect more shady stuff, sexy/risqué things. That and the overall lack of interactivity galls me

Everyone has pointed everything out id say. Lack of naughty stuff(sexual and otherwise), bland clothing choice, no in game cosmetic customization, general lack of interactivity.
We did not get the game CD sold us on. The gamed the hyped all this time, with all these qualities. We were either lied to or severely over promised.
I preorderd, because I though CDPR was different, seems not.

Yep, this would be toward the top of the list of reasons I'd dock the game points. I'm still not progressed far into it because I went back to an older save. It feels like there isn't much to do beyond hop from job to job. Even then in many cases it's often as if you're an observer. You're there, can make choices and the game does a good job of keeping the player in the moment. Unfortunately, it feels too much like you're along for the ride.

I think this was a shortcoming of TW3 too. So it's not incredibly surprising. TW3 arguably did a lot of things better on the narrative and character development fronts. In a way where you could gain a sense of attachment to both. So far CP2077 doesn't appear to be doing that quite as much for me. It's not a reassuring sign given there isn't much else to capture interest.

It's not like we would need to have access to every building, the world filled to the brim with NPC's and vehicles, and hundreds of activities either. If a game is going to slap open world on it there should be activities and things to do in that world though. Otherwise it's basically a paper tiger. Lots of places to go but very little depth to them and relatively shallow gameplay.

they need to add re-customise appearance NPC, i have stupid lookin character and i want to change tattoos, remove my penis, change haircut and change my eye pupils.

i've seen NPC playing board games wish i could join em

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one coming to that conclusion. Nothing saddens me more than seeing a city so full of life but not being able to interact with any of it.

Style over substance philosophy I guess.

It could have been much more than a visual spectacle, but there wasn't any progress made here since the Witcher 3. It's even worse actually, W3 had Gwent and barbers at least

Add minigames maybe shogi, mahjong, pool, checkers, darts, karaoke.
Add casino i want to waste my eddies in blackjack, pachinkos or poker.
Add ability to customize your apartment
Add ability to call phone and invite prostitute to my apartment and have overnight sex
Add ability to change appearance at plastic surgeon

all in all city is beautiful but feels like i am not invited in it and cannot participate in it's lifestyle

I am very disappointed in how barren the world is. Sure, it's huge, and there's lots of faceless NPC's that have no purpose wandering about. But 99% of buildings are just blocks that you can't do anything with, all those food carts and street vendors are fake and just more pointless NPC's, restaurants and bars are completely pointless as there's only a few food effects, and you'll find a metric ton of it for free lying about everywhere... and you can just use vending machines more quickly anyway.

They spent forever making the game look pretty... but it's barren and empty. There's barely anything to really DO in the world.

Yeah I am little disaspointed with this too ... from the hints or videos before release I expected a corrupted city of the future without any morale ... expected you can be drunk/high all the time if you want ... that there will be strippers and hookers at every corner and almost in every bar you can interact with ... that you can call hookers to come to your apartment and so on ...

Yes I thought about it too that if they implemented in the game everything people expected it would have been 500GB ... the hype was just too much and people expected that you would have to be able to do everything in the game and thats not posible since its just a game and it has its limitation as the current hardware has its limitations.

BUT I dont think that adding more interactivity into the world (eating, drinking, minigames etc.) would increase the size so much, I mean GTA or RDR2 has a lot of interactivity and those are not 500 GB games

And I guess if i think about it back that TW3 world wasnt very interactive too ... but I dont know it came in 2015 so I expected some improvment in that area and I also think that all this interactivity suits the modern/future day city game better and its more important then in a medieval fantasy game.
