World of Gotham

I am looking forward to Batman Arkham City. Batman Arkham Asylum, was a revelation for me. I'll just say that before I played the B:AA, I hated the universe of Gotham City. After playing the B: AA I looked all the movies. Now I love gloomy world of Gotham City. Do any of you waiting for this game as impatiently as I do?

I'm looking forward to it, really enjoyed the first game. I am however a bit disappointed with some of the recent footage which seriously smacks of Joel Schumacher's take on the bat. It's pretty cheesy and more like the BAM KAPPOWW!! Batman of the seventies instead of the Dark Knight style. But then I've been playing TW2 and I suppose just about anything looks cheesy next to that.

Seeing Catwoman was a huge turn-off. I know, Im shallow. :p

Probably will skip this in favor of Deus Ex. You cant get all the games... After buying TW2 CE, Im poor again.

I'm looking forward to it, too. I have never been interested in Batman much - I watched a few movies and that's it - but B:AA was so, so enjoyable. Riddler Puzzles were my favourite part :]

Nice game, looking forward to the sequel though I often wonder when did Catwoman start wearing welding goggles.

Jack, do not forget that the Catwoman will play a cameo role, nothing more.

Catwoman started wearing goggles ever since Jim Lee's version of her. My problem with her is she should really zip up. I love cleavage and all but she looks a little silly baring so much flesh, even for a video game.

And what do you expect from the hybrid cat with a woman;) Good that she is not a ratwoman.

The rest of the world sees Catwoman as a dominatrix. I see her as a capable thief.

I was looking forward to "Batman: Arkham City" until the box art revealed the wretched truth: Games for Windows Live. I will not be preordering or buying it on release day, that's for sure. GFWL are only worth sale bin prices, since it will most definitely ruin a big part of the fun even if the game itself is good.

Now getting technical, I think these game designers should meet some real women before including these absurd character designs in games. What skilled thief would wear such ultra-tight outfit? Seriously, that *ss is so tight it might blow up and kill someone. It seems like the game was designed to attract an audience composed mainly of horny basement-dwelling teenagers. I think she should indeed be sexy, but this is just ridiculous:

Ultimate defensive suit?

The city has too much neon in my opinion. I liked Arkham Asylum because it was very nicely portrayed as dark, twisted and run down. The first game is also sort of a mental trip for Batman, as it is in the comic "Arkham Asylum: A serious house on serious earth" upon which it is based. Of course the comic/graphic novel is much more dramatic, and a LOT darker. I would like the game to be some sort of dark, twisted, psychological ride... but as slimgrin said, it appears to be too comicky.

I don't want to judge a game before I play it, but if it does turn out to be a mediocre cash cow instead of a sequel to a great game, I'm going to be so disappointed. Catwoman's (re)design is awful, what with her tits hanging out like that (must be sooo convenient when stealing stuff and running away, right?) and that cheap Redlight district make-up :/ And those huge ears... WTF. They need to send their artist back to design school.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this Catwoman for exactly those reasons, and additionally she sounded really stupid in the dialogue I've heard so far. I'm hoping she won't bring down the rest of the game for me because I'm really looking forward to exploring the whole city as Batman.

On the plus side, I loved Two-Face in the gameplay footage I've seen so far. His responses to Catwoman were priceless :p It's hard to explain, but a blatantly ridiculous character like this version of Catwoman becomes a bit more believable if other people in the game mock her because at least the game is acknowledging that she's supposed to be ridiculous.

On a totally random side note, does anyone else think that the Penguin looks a bit like Thaler? :p I'm used to the Danny Devito Penguin so when I saw the Arkham City Penguin trailer he looked very different from what I was expecting and he keeps reminding me of Thaler :p

You got it right. Even in Arkham Asylum, everyone looked all beefed up. Did you see Gordon's forearms? He looks like a wrestler.

Guess everybody in the city is on steroids...

I guess Arkham City will be one huge dark gym with neon lights and lots of chaos.
