Hi guys
I thinking on buying Witcher 2 and I do not know if my Pc can run it,at least in minimum requirements.
I am a kind of noob in pc stuff and I don't know how to compare the requirements.
Can you guys do that?

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
RAM: 4.0 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Video Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 , 1 GB Video Ram

Thanks for the attention..

Everything is good except the "video card" . The integrated card would pretty much make the game a slide show and not a very good gaming experience . This a laptop ?

Some people have been successful with the HD 3000. It cannot do anything remotely resembling high resolution, and it won't do great frame rate even at very low resolutions. But it's better than anything Intel had before it.

Try windowed settings (set Fullscreen to Disabled) and low resolution (1280x720, 1024x768, or less); you may be surprised.

Would this run it. Don't overly care at what settings. Preferably at 1080x1920

Windows7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel i7 920 @ 3.65Ghz
Nvidia Zotac 275 GTX SLI'd x2
6GB DDR3 RAM
And enough HD space to sink a battleship lol

Thankyou, Aaron.

Ultra less Ubersampling, Motion Blur, and Cinematic DOF. Somewhere around 60 fps. 30 fps if you turn all the eye candy on. That's a wicked powerful rig for this game, which is DX9 and strongly dependent on the output stage of the graphics card

I'm newish to knowing what is a good GPU or not. I got this PC for free from a freind who joined the army and didnt want it anymore. I knew the GPU's were good, but assumed since they 5 years old....they'd struggle. Just gotta get the game to start lol

Thankyou, glad to know once working it won't be stuttering at 5FPS :D

Newer isn't always more powerful. GPUs are made over a wide range, and an older top-of-the-line card is still more capable than a newer entry-level card. Especially those old nVidia beasts with G92 and G200 chips. They can't do DirectX 11, but they can still do anything that doesn't need it.

That should be plenty good enough to run on 1920x1080 and high settings. The GPU is well above recommended spec. Not much of a CPU, but it's above minimum, and this game isn't too dependent on the CPU. To me, that suggests something interfering with the game: something else on your computer preventing the GPU from running at full performance.

What about if I'm running 8GB, quad core and HD radeon 3200. Would that be sufficient? I can run W1 pretty decent with lower settings, just wondering if I could do the same with W2. Thanks

It probably won't get you the best experience with TW2. That GPU is well below what's usually considered the playable minimum. Fine for streaming video, fine for Blu-Ray (the 3200 was notable for being one of the first GPUs to play Blu-Ray competently), OK for now-retro games like TW1, going to need severe reduction in expectations to play TW2.

With below-minimum GPUs, the best results are usually had at 1280x720, windowed mode if 1280x720 is a bad fit for your screen, and medium or low settings.

(Low settings turns on texture downscaling, which actually costs performance, unless you must use it because you have a GPU that is severely limited on memory. Medium almost always works better.)

That's fine by me then. My resolution is 1440 so it's not far below that. Just as long as I can run it witjhout hurting my eyes is all I need :) Thanks

Would my PC run The Witchers 2? heres my specs;
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 620

Everything else is fine; the 620 is weak. See what I wrote above on settings for a subminimum GPU, start from there, and good luck with it.

Intel Core i5-3210M, 2,500 MHz
RAM: 4GB
AMD Radeon HD 7670M, 2GB

What do you think? Will it run witcher good enough?

The 7670M is going to be the limiting resource. My experience with similar "Cedar" and "Turks" GPUs has been fair to good. They're better if they're a GDDR5 model.

They won't drive a full 1920x1080 screen at any frame rate you'd enjoy. But they'll play well at 1280x720, 1366x768, 1440x900, or 1280x1024. Start with medium settings and one of those resolutions.

With any laptop, watch out for heat with this game. It drives the GPU hard, and even low-power GPUs like the Turks series can put out enough heat to affect laptop cooling.

From the configurator try setting to low specs and most likely a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 or 1366 x 768 . Might even try windowed as that has helped some people . For windowed in the configurator just uncheck fullscreen .

So last year my GPU died on me and I have been saving heavily for a new system since then, due in part to the tech being majorly out of date now anyway. But I'm pretty tired of not being able play any games more intensive than say bloodlines. So I am thinking of buying a cheap low end GPU to play through TW2 again with, while I wait for February (for TW3 naturally). I looked at the recommended requirements but thought I could probably do better than a HD4850. I would use AMD in this case because they are generally cheaper than Nvidia and this is a cheap dirty GPU I want after all.

I was looking at a HD7750 but what I was really wondering is if anyone had a good idea for good medium on price/performance that would let me play TW2 with a decent framerate? I don't need any of the other graphical bells and whistles. Thank you for your time and I apologize for the weirdly specific question.

The price on the nVidia 750 and 750Ti has come down to where it is better price-performance than the 7750 or 7770. It also generally comes with 2GB VRAM. It will definitely play TW2 competently and will probably do not too badly with TW3.

I wish nVidia had something more current than the 660 to go between the 750Ti and 760.
