I'm not against Mulitiplayer for Cyberpunk as long as it doesn't affect the continued development of the Single-Player game. My preference is Single-Player games all day, every day. I would love it if they updated Cyberpunk 2077 like Destiny 2, with a big 'ol update yearly with other nice small stuff throughout the year. Minus the content vaulting because that wouldn't make sense for an offline Single-Player game. The Universe of Cyberpunk is huge and could possibly support content updates like that.
Now if they are going the Titanfall/Apex route that could be a good/bad thing. As anyone who has played that franchise knows. It takes FOREVER for new lore, stories, maps, and skins to come out. But as they have said the two titles are being led by two completely different teams. Also, CDPR devs, if any of you are perusing this thread please for the love of the cosmos DON'T MAKE A DAMN BATTLE PASS WITH FOMO MECHANICS! (ahem sorry)
Now if they really go "whole-hog" and do the Apex thing then I wouldn't know how to feel about that. Waiting months and months and months for the next dribblets of the story is a pain in the ass. However, it would help with the in-between time of waiting for major Single-Player updates, new releases, possible expansions or sequels to the main story, etc. This being CDPR I don't think they would fuck over the story for the sake of "Seasonally-Structured" bare minimum updates. If they do then that would really suck.
More positively, I would hope things that happen in the multiplayer would be mentioned in the Single Player. That they wouldn't be completely separated narratively speaking. Much like the N54 News updates, could be cool to hear about your Multiplayer Character or whatever we would be doing in the multiplayer be mentioned in the background while we do badass shit as V.
But that's just my two cents, Single-Player should always come first.
