Would you settle for ultra/uber quality to look like the 35 minute footage?

Yes, I would, but we aren't getting the level of detail seen in the 35 minute footage anymore.

That's very true, however the recent PC demos/trailers (official ones like RAGE & STEEL) don't look like 35 mins demo so I'll prepare myself for anything. I don't really care about the SoD level quality anymore because that was the time when devs were most probably experimenting with stuff so it looked extra ordinary however 35 mins demo looked like real deal and something that was running well so why not ? I hope you're correct :)

I'm just repeating what CDPR have said. We are getting what consoles get, just a higher resolution and some nVidia effects. The 35 minute demonstration shows there is much more going on there than a higher resolution and hairworks.

Samk, you don't know this. You don't. There are already images contradicting you, but more to the point, unless you've seen the future, you don't know.

Cut it out.

Yeah it's looking that way. I wonder how much stuff they really cut out cause the consoles couldn't run it.

Am i the only thinking that CDRP isn't showing the true potential of the PC build for marketing reasons , in order to attract more console buyers as the game looks "similar " and after the realease date they will go all out revealing us what we truly get?
I could be paranoid or delusional for hoping such stuff but i do not believe that its really that far fetched.

What? I just repeated what CDPR said on this very forum a few hours ago. Perhaps I should have used quotation marks. I wasn't stating it as something I knew, just a quote. Here:

I'm just repeating what CDPR have said. "We are getting what consoles get, just a higher resolution and some nVidia effects."

aka
There will be visible differences between console and PC (we always said so), stuff like:
- draw distance
- framerate
- resolution
-exclusive features such as hairworks

It probably seems that way because you cut out the important part of the sentence.

A question. Was The Witcher originally successful because of graphics or it's traditional RPG elements?

Was Morrowind/Oblivion successful because of it's graphics or because of it's RPG elements?

Were Mudd successful because of graphics or the RPG element.

Was Baldurs gate successful because of Graphics or it's RPG element.

Was Diablo successful because of graphics or it's RPG element.

I say all this because most of you spazzin out enjoyed an RPG not because of graphics but now essentially saying an RPG is based on graphics yet the RPGs you liked didn't have good graphics.

You'll excuse me if I find that hypocritical.

Except that your presumption is that anyone in this thread doesn't care about those things.

Now obviously, you care about RPG elements, but no one should assume that you don't care about music and send your copy of TW3 with a chip-tuned soundtrack instead, because really, RPG elements are what makes the game successful, amirite?

The same can be applied here. There is an entire forum dedicated to TW3, including sub-forums now, and many, many, many threads.

This is a thread discussing whether or not the game's graphics will be of a particular fidelity level, and whether people are okay with that.

What I would find hypocritical would be a person coming into to such a thread, and insulting people in it for caring about graphics.

While it was a very high end card in it's day, it is now outperformed by much lower priced cards such as the GTX 970 and even the R9 290x, mostly due to Kepler's lower compute performance..

A 970 is more or less equal to a Titan.

A 290X is slightly better than a Titan in some games, slightly worse in others.

I was trying to politely point out that your comment didn't mesh. This is because the entire bit in quotes, well, actually wasn't a quote.

http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/36117-For-those-PC-gamers-who-are-craving-for-Min-vs-Max-comparison?p=1660944&viewfull=1#post1660944

Above is the full quote. Nothing more, and nothing less.

It does not say 'we are getting what the consoles get'.

It does say there will be visible differences between console and PC.

It does not say, 'we will only get a higher resolution and nvidia effects.'

It does say that some some of the things we get will include:

- draw distance
- framerate
- resolution
-exclusive features such as hairworks

All I'm trying to point out is that there is a fine line between spreading information, and spreading what you think the information means.

I read very well thank you. What you don't get, is that there has clearly been more of a regression of quality rather than a progression in most circumstances. The E3 build was from last year, and yet it has features that are missing from more recent builds like what the YouTubers got to play such as screen space reflections..

It's this trend that is causing people to worry.

I dont know what went wrong with CD Project Red but it wont be ground breaking as Witcher 2.
Developer confirmed indirectly that it will be 1:1 port except some features which all PC games have.

They did not learn from Crytek or Bioware because once u are a sold out than forever u are a sold out.

I sure the PC will out sale console in this game but fact will be that only PC user will be most disappointed.

What would you consider ground-breaking about TW2, in terms of graphics technology?

I'll be more than happy to get that graphic quality, it's not like I am not happy right now but it will be a huge surprise and a true "slap across the face" if we get that quality on PC. I guess it will also satisfy a whole lot of downgrade complaints, however I don't see these two things coming back so easily.

1) Lighting (It's completely changed if I am not wrong).
2) Blood in the water, it was really cool to be honest.
We won't know for sure about the lighting until we see the final build I suppose. It's kind of hard to tell whether it has changed, because things like time of day, color palette and even ambient occlusion can affect it..

As for the blood in the water, I heard that was a bug and it was going to be fixed.

Yes in 2011 yes.

U can compare any 2011 Open world games with Witcher 2
