Would you settle for ultra/uber quality to look like the 35 minute footage?

A 970 is more or less equal to a Titan.

A 290X is slightly better than a Titan in some games, slightly worse in others.

Those benchmarks are using launch drivers for the GTX 970. Check a review with more uptodate drivers, specifically the 347.xx and better and you'll see that the GTX 970 edges out the Titan, especially in recent games like Dragon Age Inquisition or Ryse where lots of compute shaders are used.

I was trying to politely point out that your comment didn't mesh. This is because the entire bit in quotes, well, actually wasn't a quote.

http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threa...=1#post1660944

Above is the full quote. Nothing more, and nothing less.

It does not say 'we are getting what the consoles get'.

It does say there will be visible differences between console and PC.

It does not say, 'we will only get a higher resolution and nvidia effects.'

It does say that some some of the things we get will include:

- draw distance
- framerate
- resolution
-exclusive features such as hairworks

All I'm trying to point out is that there is a fine line between spreading information, and spreading what you think the information means.

So you think "visible differences" equals a massive change such as the difference between PS4 and the 35 minute demo? I think the difference won't be so great. I have the quotes and media to back it up so I'm confident I know what the information means.

My point is those differences won't add up to the 35 minute demonstration. I think you got too caught up in semantics. You'll see on the previous pages I quoted the post from Marcim you just mentioned. My comment about "we are getting what consoles get" is a reference to the well known interview here http://www.gamepressure.com/e.asp?ID=51 where they discuss parity and platform unification.

There wont be any visual difference and i think developers already confirmed it that it is 1:1 port.

Drivers may have improved the 970 to have a lead over the Titan, but do you feel it's a significant improvements as in 10-15+ FPS? IMO, a 970 is not that much better than a Titan for game performance. I could be wrong however.

What? Can you be specific?
I totally agree that TW2 had a lot of ground-breaking features, but given this thread's topic, I'm assuming you're talking about graphics. So what were they?

Because if you're here just to keep saying:

it's difficult to understand whether you are making a valid point, or here for other reasons.

I think building tesselation and a lot of the settings that I've seen buried in the config files easily make up the differences between the PS4 footage and the 35-Minute Gamplay Demo, yes.

Am I 100% confident that we'll be able to get there without mods? No. I think the odds are better than even right now, but I'm still maintaining my skepticism. The manner in which graphics have been discussed and handled by CDPR have been.. somewhat inconsistant at best, I would say. I'm happy to wait for release and start really digging into the engine. Not only to know what we've gotten, but what more I can get out of it. (My goal is to replicate the SOD trailer if possible, and I think VGX is doable with the right modding.)

The article you link is well known, but I really consider the developer's answer in there to be more of a non-answer than anything else. He doesn't seem willing to talk about it, and that could be for a number of reasons. His statements are also not 'all-inclusive' nor do they otherwise exclude differences that aren't stated.

I can see where you could read that article and come to the conclusion that 'we will get what the consoles get, but with a higher resolution and hairworks'. But again, that's inference, which is exactly what I was discussing in my previous post.

I certainly fear that you are correct. But I do not know that you are correct. Which is what people have been trying to get across. We all have a bunch of pieces, there are several ways the pieces could go together, some more likely than others. But nobody except CDPR has all the pieces yet, and the specific information that you are claiming to know, is information that has not explicitly been confirmed or denied.

So again, I do fear that you are correct, and my skepticism shares your opinion. And at exactly the same time I very much hope that you are not.

This is my last post on this issue as I don't want to go off topic. But if you look at this TechPowerUp review, the GTX 970 has a 6% lead over the Titan at 1080p resolution. And those drivers are still kind of old, but much better than the launch drivers used in Anandtech's bench..

Regardless, the point is that the GTX 970 makes high end performance accessible for a lot of people because of it's exceptional performance per dollar ratio. And don't even mention overclocking or performance per watt. GTX 970 destroys Kepler Titan in those metrics as well.

With the low cost of the GTX 970, CDPR can't claim that the 35 minute footage is unattainable or unplayable and thus not worth implementing..

Where did you see building tessellation in the config files? All I saw was water tessellation..

Did he mention any graphic advantage on Pc expect every port have Resolution,Framerate and AMD/Nvidia tech.\
No they did not and i know it lead to a real backlash on Tuesday when people found that PS4>PC ultra settings.

Witcher 3 will carry the same faith like Aliens: Colonial Marines on PC and it is just the matter of time.

Is some group having fun trolling this forum? I'm seeing 100s of accounts created in last few days with a couple of posts spouting inane arguments over and over again without willing to have any serious discussion. No way can any sort of "downgrade" attract this much attention on it's own. Hell, Ubi forums just before Watch dogs came out was more calm.

I meant to distinguish building tessellation apart from the things currently tweakable inside the config files. As to say: "We will need building tessellation AND some of the things found in the config files to make that work."

If it weren't for building tessellation, and a bit of other tessellation reductions we've seen, I'd be confident in saying that the config files as we understand them currently should be able to replicate 97+% of the 35min gameplay demo.

My hope is that the lack of tessellation was the reason for the poor looking PC vs PS4 comparison, and that was the reason for the video removal, the same reason why an Nvidia promo shot got pulled within a couple of hours just a few weeks ago. In essence, that it was not representative of the final build of the game.

We won't know for sure about the lighting until we see the final build I suppose. It's kind of hard to tell whether it has changed, because things like time of day, color palette and even ambient occlusion can affect it..

As for the blood in the water, I heard that was a bug and it was going to be fixed.

Blood won't mix with water anymore as real-time water reflection has been removed for a lower water technology. Blood splatter, however, is a bug and will be fixed. Day one patch fixed the blood splatter on some monsters and animals but not humanoid just yet

I don't think there's any reason to assume this to be a co-ordinated attack, just a fairly small number of individuals. Smaller than you may think.

Anyway, this one looks like it's due its lock. We've allowed a few to go on today in the hope that those discussions might happen, but apparently not. The next few are likely to be deleted immediately, so it's probably worth waiting until things calm down before starting a new one.
