Witcher 3 wild hunt main story was 50 and half hours long. Main with extras 102 hours!

Cyberpunk after almost a decade of working on a story. The main story is 19 hours long, main plus extra 48 hours. The main plus extras is shorter than witcher 3 main story lol.

That is absolutely pathetic dude. My source is how long to beat. Go see for yourself. Shame on you CDPR. All that dang hype for a 19 hour rpg story. Good god.

On top of everything they have like 8 pointless boxing missions which could've been character missions. The boxing missions are some of the most pointless side missions ever.

I digress...

Yep, the game is cut super short. We know. Hopefully future DLCs and expansion will fix that problem with many other issues.

I'm not really sure how much in a hurry people are when they play.

I'm nearing 80 hours and there's still a ton of stuff to do. I will certainly wrap the game up well before everything's done.

Well when the narrative is telling you to hurry up because you are dying. Then people tend to focus on one thing at a time.

Well wether you take your time playing is not the issue I get it trust me. It's math the main story without taking your time is less than half the length of witcher 3 without taking your time simple. After almost a decade of hyping it up and working on it. It's sad really. I was so excited for this on insane levels. To see how disappointing and fast the story was is truly a shame.

Looking at those three progress cards at the top of your menu, I was at 30% on the first card. Then I met Panam and played for a couple of hours. Then finally met up with Goro, the second time. All of a sudden it said 60%.

Definitely didn't expect that.

Yeah. I actually had to pull myself away from the main story to do other shit because I didn’t want to blow through the story so fast.

Same here. First playthrough took me 80+ hours and I still had a ton of side stuff open, which I will finish on my second run once the game is a little more polished.

Still doesn't change the fact that the game is factually shorter than the main story of the witcher only.

How long it takes you is really going to be down to whether you're role playing or game playing. The latter will take you far longer than the former.

Yeah this release was rushed with pressure from the investors, new consoles, covid, and the holidays. As long as the game breaking bugs are cleared up i already feel i have gotten a good investment, we all know there is going to be more free and paid dlc so don't sweat it. There is blame to go around but the game is actually pretty fun and i think the team deserve some encouragement with all the hyperbole around.

I'm 100 hours in and haven't finished it been taking my time on side missions since i hit the point of no return and still have a lot to do.

Then perhaps I should expand my comment further:

If you just follow the main story, i.e. roleplay, then yes, the game is very short. However, there's a bit more mileage to be had by doing every side quest and gig, if that's your thing, i.e. game playing. No, neither is a great amount of time compared with the cited example (Withcher 3). But how long it takes you over all is, in general, going to be affected somewhat by what you focus on content-wise.

Bottom line though, I roleplay. So, yes, it's laughably short.

If I had done all the side quest stuff I would have easily ended up with 100 hours. So approximately the same OP claims WItcher 3 takes including all side quests.
MAYBE you can finish the Cyberpunk main story in 19 hours if you rush through it...but seriously if you do that it's your own fault. If you rush the Witcher 3 main story it's not going to be 50 hours either.
Even IF Cyberpunk was ~50 hours in total (which it isn't) how would that be a problem for a 60,- game?

So doing side-quests is not "roleplaying" because...?
In Cyberpunk the side quest stuff is equally relevant to the character as the main story. Probably more so, since you get to make more decisions that actually do something (at least that's the feeling I got).

You can actually finish the main story with the only meaningful sidequest in about 30 hours really. We can pretend that the game is not short with the cheap arguement of "oH thE gAmE TakEs aS loNg aS You MaKe iT", but won't change that fact that CP77 is nowhere near to the Witcher 3 content wise.
And sorry but 50 hours content is nowhere near enough for an open world rpg for $60. Like.. what is this mentality of being satisfied with less?
CDPR is not an indie company, they have set the bar themselves, and after all the hype they created around their "industry changing new IP", I am upholding them to it. Especially since the story in CP77 actually suffers from the cuts it obviously received. The pacing and narrative is just off on multiple places.

Mixing lower and upper case letters does not make an argument cheap. How or why anybody would finish this game in 30 hours is simply beyond me. So it's shorter than Witcher 3. W3's content was insane and nowhere near "standard" even for an open world RPG. CP obviously posed very different challenges for the devs and concessions were made but there's still a TON of content in this game.

And 50 hours is not enough for an RPG anymore? Wow. You know, at your pace I'm guessing you could finish pretty much any Bethesda open world RPG in much less than that. Me personally, I never really bothered much with the main quests in those games because, unlike CP2077, the stories and characters SUCKED.
Disco Elysium, easily the best RPG released last year, took me 40 hours and I thought it was perfect. But I guess I must be confused. o_O

When will people learn that hours != value.

I finished my first playthrough in around 45 hours but those were 45 solid hours. Every single minute was enjoyable. Meanwhile there were times when I played TW3 and felt the pacing was inconsistent, despite loving that game.

May I ask, what sidequests did influence characters progression towards the main story? Just genuinely curious.

I was surprised the length of the main story. Surprisingly short.. The introduction was very robust and large, while the bulk of the main story seems to be lacking in girth and density.

With this, the amount of meaningful side missions and varietized gigs does add more to the picture... but i really hope they expand on the main story.
