xbox 360 controller for PC issues

when attempting to use an xbox 360 controller for PC and a mouse in combination, the message keeps popping up notifying you of a control scheme change. in what year will we finally be able to use both in games again? 2025? the year consoles die a horrible death? furthermore, cannot customize controller buttons, only console-ported 'schemes'... as others have mentioned in various threads: A. similar in scope: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/36767-PLEASE-Allow-Option-to-Disable-360-Gamepad-Support-Skyrim-Has-It?p=1673419#post1673419 B. ability to disable xbox controller, in case using custom controller software, to prevent conflicts: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/36770-Option-to-Disable-360-Gamepad-Support-for-PC-Version?p=1673426#post1673426 C. cannot rebind certain keyboard controls: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/36590-Cannot-rebind-many-keyboard-controls-particualrly-bad-if-you-re-left-handed?p=1672567#post1672567 also, ability to bind mouwheel up/down separately (this is missing from SO MANY games).... and mouse buttons... (or is this going the way of the console port)?

I'm not using a controller for this game, but that message spams every time I open any menu or click anything there.
Plugging away the controller receiver didn't help either, same for trying to tweak inis.

I am having a major issue with this as well, except that mine automatically goes into witcher senses mode everytime I look at a menu /map/inventory/options. It's making my game unplayable. and i can't use the keyboard/mouse option, because the keys are not bindable, and for left handed people that is the most horrible thing you could ever do to us. Its 2015 CDPR, WHYYYYYYY would you put out a game without the option to rebind keys!!!

At least yours works...my wireless XBox controller isn't working at all. I've tried uninstalling all other gamepad drivers, restarting the computer, and testing it on other games (GTA 5, DA:I both work fine). No clue why it isn't recognizing my controller, I'm stuck with an old Logitech F710 which is uncomfortable and has periodic input lag =(
