Xbox 360 - no option to kill dragon (SPOILERS)

I've replayed the dragon battle over and over but I'm not given the option to kill the dragon. He looks away, looks back and then walks over to the dragon and spares her life.

Does anyone know why I'm not givent he option to kill her?

You are on Iorveth's path and helped him right?

Yeah, I pretty much helped Iorveth the whole way through. I've been doing some reading and I guess if I help Triss instead of saving Phillipa then I will be given the option of killing the dragon, right?

I started to read all the other possibilities, wow, SOO many different endings and paths!

So if I go after Triss and take the "Roche" path in chapter 3 I should be givent he choice to kill the dragon, right?

Thanks,
Russ

Correct: on all other paths, you have the option to kill the dragon. On Iorveth's path, if you rescue Triss. Or all choices on Roche's path.

Okay, on mys econd playthrough I sided with Iorveth at the Elven ruins, but if I look for Triss instead of saving philippa I should be able to kill the dragon, thanks!

I'm trying to go back and get the other achievements as well as see where some of the different paths take.

Thanks!

The motive for going Iorveth's path in Act 3 is to save Saskia, so it would make no sense whatsoever if you were given the choice to kill her. If you simply don't care about Saskia's fate, or if you're more concerned about Triss, you go rescue her, instead.
These tough choices are what make the game so fantastic.

I must say that being able to kill Saskia after helping Iorveth get the dagger would be the ultimate troll choice.

You can save Triss, kill Saskia and leave the soldiers to take Iorveth.

Moving again, even deeper. I don't think this topic can avoid multiple spoilers.

That still doesn't compare to getting Iorveth's hopes high for curing her and then crushing it in an instant by killing her.

There is always an option to let her live or kill her

No; you have no option to kill the dragon if you sided with Iorveth and Philippa and got the spellbreaker dagger.

This is an old thread. Please don't resurrect it unless you have something new to add.
