xbox controller won't bring up interface for special ablities

Using Xbox controller. Not sure what version. I am unable to choose any of my native powers such as quen and igni . It works on the keyboard jus fine. I don’t know the game’s version number. But I can check if that would be necessary. Plz let me know what is the next step.

The last version of the game (4.0) ?
If yes, you use the original or the alternative way to launch signs ?
(with the alternative, you don't really need to "choose". In theory, it's a combination of RT + button/LT)
