@Kallelinski I believe it just depends on whether you asked her who she plans to contact with the megascope in the previous conversation. If you didn't ask the question you'll get this line. I don't think this is new ;)

Hmm, I will be damned. I thought already that this was too good to be true

Still strange, I always had the conversation with her before that and I loaded a savegame, where I was looking for those bombs, hm.

Edit: why is GFY adding so much empty space to the post o_o

Yeah, it's the same, when I load another savegame. Strange, never thought about that. I still think that the "new" dialogue seems better, less onesided.

Well, I guess my hope that they fix some other things as well is grasping for the tiniest straw ._.

Still, a great detail that the dialogue changes accordingly to your previous dialogue options, kudos to that.

Oh wel thanks for the clarification My bubble bursted DX

Yeah, sorry about that :teeth:

Anyway, there is this conversation with her about "the best bed in Kaer Morhen":

It's slightly different than the one I always get, yet Yennefer doesn't throw him in the lake like she does after the break up. Anyone knows how to trigger it?

I always get this one about the bed, in all my playthroughs. I never have romantic talks with Triss in my game, I always make it clear that we are only friends

Even tho I played the game like 5 times already, I can never be certain if Yennefer is pissed because it was Triss or just because it was another woman, taken she is VERY jealous about Geralt XD

Sooo to mask my mistake, just recently I was wondering what exactly does The Witcher 1 offer in terms of information about Yennefer?

As far as I can remember there wasn't much at all, if at all.

Neither does anyone ever mentions her (or Ciri) in dialogues with Geralt nor does the game, except for that innkeeper, who tells you a familiar story.

Was there really nothing else?

Because it is Triss, since she is one of the very friends Yennefer ever had, past tense...

Imagine one of you best friends would have done, what Triss did. This "friend" would have been dead for me.

Don't worry that friendship is not existent anymore, at least, not in the books, you know it ;)

Wonder why the devs decided to make them "besties" again. Makes no sense to me...

Yes, there certainly is!

If you decide to romance Triss to the point where you get the second sex card (from memory, giving her a ruby ring after you've brought Alvin to her) she says "So you love me and have forgotten her?

(jump to 10:20)

Perfectly innocent, Triss! :youdontsay:

That dialogue most probably refers to Shani - it should be obvious given that it is just after the player makes a choice who to bring Alvin to. There are two conversations I remember in the game where Yennefer is being talked about (but not named):
- in one of them, Triss mentions a sorceress Geralt tried to capture a djinn with
- the other one is with the innkeeper in Chapter 4, where he says she died while trying to save the witcher after the pogrom

That dialogue most probably refers to Shani

I'd disagree there, as Geralt still has many following interactions with Shani, not to mention that even in-game at that point, Geralt barely knows her - he may have had been with her once (depending on player choice) but before that, she's someone he had a fun one night with over five years ago, not someone that Triss is desperately hoping that he doesn't remember. Her bigger concern re Shani is who is in charge of the Source.

It's at that point that Triss is beginning the "taking advantage" thing that she brings up in TW3. Of course, this is based on the English translation of TW1 which as we all know isn't great....if the Polish is different I'd be interested to know.

I honestly cannot see how someone can interpret that line as being about Yennefer, especially since in that case players who did not read the books would not even understand what it is about - for them, it is 100% clear that it is about forgetting Shani as a love interest. And it would not even make sense to ask Geralt about Yennefer without naming her while he has amnesia - similarly to the non-book reading players, he just would not understand the question. In TW1, Geralt's story, as he remembers it, begins in Kaer Morhen in the prologue - he knows Triss from the prologue, and Shani from chapters 1 and 2.

You have to remember, TW1 wasn't made on the same basis as the sequels - it was made for a market that has read the books, which at that point weren't translated into English but have been absolutely massive in Europe since the 90s.

@Black-Cypher, quite simply because Triss became a darling for the players. Therefore CDPR could not make her villainous in any way, much of what she did in the books was essentially whitewashed in the games.

Just like they did with Philippa for some reason :(

Although Yennefer is my favorite of all times, I must agree with you. Yennefer and Ciri were mentioned only by that Inn Keeper and they were not even named back then, so yeah, I doubt she was talking about Yennefer too :(

A reminder to everyone: Understandably, people can become passionate and rather sensitive about the various characters; however, please avoid disparaging the views and preferences of others. There's no need for it, so please keep things respectful. Thank you. Carry on.
