I have got another question about the book
Why didn't Yen just find Geralt first, teleport to meet him then go find Ciri together. From the books it is clear that Yen can find geralt since she has deep connection with him. Well the book would have much shorter maybe but that would have been more into her character right??

1) Teleport would reveal her presence to other sorcerers and therefore threaten both (Yen is seen as traitor by everyone at that time!).
2) Yen doesn't agree with Geralt's "approach" of searching Ciri. She probably knew that he would question her tools and vice versa and nobody would benefit.
3) Yen doesn't think that finding Geralt first would bring her any closer to Ciri but only cost precious time (-> Ciri > Geralt for Yennefer).
4) She finally decides to risk her own life and do something "stupid" in order to find her. That's just my interpretation but by allowing others to torture her she enables Ciri to find her instead because they have some kind of "empathic connection", somehow forged by destiny. That's probably the reason why Ciri finally managed to get back to the Witcher world at the "right" time and the "right" location. That's of course risky because she leads Ciri to the lion's lair but I guess she just decided to trust Ciri - and Geralt who himself has an "empathic connection" to Ciri that finally led him to leave Touissant once Ciri's and Yen's life was in ultimate danger.

I think she also blamed herself for what happend with Ciri and was too ashamed to meet with him.She said this in Baptism of Fire:
"What damn snare entangles the girl?Damn, how can i look in the witchere's eyes..."

1. Is it mentioned somewhere that they can detect teleport? I doubt it because when yen escaped from Philippa's castle noone knew she is in skellige
2. I can agree with this, knowing Yen and Geralt. But honestly, Geralt would have helped and follow Yen if he knew what hapened
4. Very good explanation and maybe that is what Sapkowski was thinking.

Yeah but Geralt is known as a sensible person although moody.. It was clear in the book that Geralt was clueless trying to find Ciri. It is only by pure luck that he managed to get the information about castle Stygga.

1. Yes, there are ways to track teleportation. The teleport to Skellige was a near random teleportation, one that was on luck. And it was a surprise.
The mages were tracking for Yen's signature or something. During that meeting? They did not.

Geralt is about as sensible as a donkey at times :p

Cults and Sects, what is the Forum, really?

So they address you like they would a priest?

Just finish Wild Hunt for the 5th time, always with Yen in the end.

The more i replay the game, the more i read this tread and re-read the book, made me realize all of the missing opportunities ...

But damn i love this character, in the game, in the books, she became one of my favorite fictional character of all time.

I just can't immagine let Geralt go with Triss, i've try but ... na. I just can't stand Triss when she's trying to flirt with Geralt. I like Triss: when she act like a friend, an ally, and only that.
Yennefer is just too amazing to be betrayed.

As far as I remember Yen was told that Geralt was still healing from his injuries at Brokilon Forest. She can not teleport to Dryad teretory uninvited. Beside she felt guilty for whatever happened to Ciri. She felt that she had to make things right by her own.

Two impossible things of my life: continue the romance with Triss in TWII and choose her in TWIII.

It's not really betrayal if you break up with her is it? Just means that essentially, the feelings between them were manufactured.

Of course you can say that going to Triss is a betrayal, but if the feelings were produced by a Djinn, it's not really fair to say that.

Plus you can always dump her and just not romance either.

It makes me so sad when people make fun of Yen because she was a hunchback :crybaby: This is just...wrong.
