the reason those who have not read the books thinks that the love between Yen & Geralt is the product of wish granted by a Djinn solely because of that blunt 2nd dialog option, which is totally contradicts the book lore & even the Game lore at some extent. which is purely lazy writing by the Devs.
I am more worried about the people, who have read the books, but still think they have to bash Yennefer and their relationship in every situation only to justfiy their own preference.
I am probably labelled by many as pure Yen-fan, but even
I gave the rose to Triss, because i thought it fit the story (you know, Geralt with amnesia thought Triss = Yen) and in my case it also fit the story that the rose withered/died. I am not denying what happened between Geralt and Triss, but for me "nothing's changed" and as i said the rose was already dying in Witcher 2, that doesn't even have something to do with Witcher 3.
But if it indeed changed for you personally during the games, well, so be it, but there is no reason to deny or even lie about what happened between Geralt and Yennefer or play it down to justify your personal preference.
Please, stop forge square wheels in this thread.
Everything is too obvious and clear on the pages of the books, in TWII flashbacks and, finally, "The Last Wish" quest in Wild Hunt. If not for you - we can't help you because nobody here really wants to start another meaningless debate. There's a thread about Yennefer not about useless "which woman is true".
Best wishes.
Yeah, it's getting really annoying in the meanwhile.
If you
@wright1978 just don't want to see it this way nor accept anything from the books you don't like, it shouldn't be our or anybody else's problem. It's neither conducive nor supportive for this or any discussion.
I already tried to explain the situation in the chapter The Last Wish, if you don't agree with that, well, so be it, i can't change that obviously.
@Willowhugger also chose Triss in the games, yet his posts here are always supportive and conducive for the disccussion (or small talk), and he is also open for discussions, what you don't really seem capable of, if your only concern is to promote your opinion as a straight fact.
This isn't the first time, probably already the 4th or 5th, where your post just want to provoke others. If you can't provide anything useful for this discussion except for things like that, i'd like to ask you to stay away from here then.
I am already wondering why you even come back here again and again.
There is no doubt that in the books Yen is the love of Geralt's life, that is not even debatable, but seeing how games are based on player choice it makes sense to give each player a chance to chose what he thinks is appropriate for Geralt. That is one of the most important things that makes Witcher games stand out and what CDPR especially emphasizes as one of the key features of their games. For me personally it is not that unrealistic to imagine that after 20 years of love a couple would break up for whatever reasons or that the love between them would no longer be as strong as it was at in its prime. Couples get divorce in real life after many years of marriage and love and often move on to be with other people, so its not like its unimaginable.
Even though I prefer Triss, I can't say one bad word about Yennefer because I think she is an amazing character and the relationship between her and Geralt obviously remains strong even if Geralt chooses Triss. I ordered the books recently so I am really curious by how much will my opinion change once I read them.
Thank you, really. Makes me happy that there are people who think like that, even without reading the books.
