Then Sapkowksi shouldn't have sold them the right to make their own canon stories in his universe with his characters. Sapkowski can't comment on their right to make their own canon stories only that they aren't his canon future.
I guess Konrad said something similar at the panel - he was just saying that they (in CDPR) trying continue where the books ended and that lore is important to them...
Anyway yeah I agree with the books but hell I'm so glad I can play The Witcher 3 and see finally Yennefer there - beautiful cold as the shard of ice...there are also some amazing moments with Yennefer in the game - yeah not everything is perfect but again what game is?...

I can't think of anythiny worse anybody could do to Sapkowski without phyiscally hurting him. No matter how butchered topics, characters or whatever else of the books in other media eventually are, this is worse.
You and I don't know the terms of the contract. And if Sapkowski keep saying videogames are not canon, it will be true. Or CDPR would have answered the contrary.

Guys, this "canon" discussion is just a wording game... If somebody wants to call the game lore canon for themselves, why do you care? Everybody knows that there is book lore and that there is game lore and that the game lore has absolutely no influence on the book lore while the book lore has significant influence on the game lore - that's pretty much all there is to say.

Nah. Bad writing, bad narrative design and bad game design had negative influences on the game.
Everything else is just hot air, especially these pointless community wars.
I think too many (new) people were expecting a Bioware-approach on this, giving everyone his/her personal waifu, but this was never meant to be this way.
