No you`re just a manSo my girlfriend has just started her first full time graduate job and i'm just sitting here playing TW3 all day and thinking of Yen. Am i a failure?
Just don't say Yen's name during love making and you're good![]()
This choice remind me of the one in Witcher 1 when Triss/Shani escort Geralt to the tower (same tower right)![]()
I have to say I find it fascinating the obsessions with both Yennefer and Triss for this game. As if Witcher 3 is viewed more as a dating sim than an RPG. Probably not a wise thing to say in this thread, but meh, dissent is an important part of any well rounded discussion.
Any who, I actually really wanted to like Yennefer, I came into Witcher 3 blind after being first introduced to the franchise with W2. Didn't realize how complex both Yen and Triss are in the books. I can certainly see the dilemna with the portrayal of these two characters in this game: Yen's coarseness and brazen attitude to almost everything drowns out her apparently hidden gentleness and makes her really difficult to like for non-book readers such as myself, and Triss feels too much like an afterthought merely added into the game to give players an option other than Yen.
Regardless, Triss was the easier choice for me since a well-mannered and smiling 'empty-shell' is still better than a full-blooded nightmare in Yen. But that's just how I am with girls, can't stand too much drama.
Do you think she would be pleased if she came home one day and i had a bought her a curly black wig and some lilac and gooseberries perfume and told her to call me Geralt?
Could we have added more and deeper details about relationships between Geralt and Yennefer and Yennefer and Ciri? Maybe.
Here, I am merely trying to point out things that I can say from my end. This does not mean that our approach to the Yennefer/Triss/Ciri/Geralt situation was perfect and that no one has a right to think it should have been differently. This is merely me trying to explain certain aspects and clarifying things when I can.
As I pointed out before, the main people for these things is our Story Department. They know a LOT better than I do why and how characters were written in certain ways. And they do know their stuff.

:hmm:
Thank you indeed for your lengthy reply, it really is fantastic to have this type of direct and open communication.
I think we're past Triss vs Yen issue, although there will always be noise in this type of communication channel. Also, I'd like to apologize on behalf of users for certain harsh comments and judgements made in this thread, in regards to your story writing and character development. I assure you, they are a minority.
It would be tragic if anyone at CDPR thinks we're just bashing your work, when in fact we want more of your creative talent poured into the game.
Most of us feel like you've done a fantastic job, and at the end of the day (I as a book reader) got a rewarding experience in return.
To sum it up, we just feel like there could be more family moments between Ciri, Geralt and Yen. Whilst Yen is beautifully done in every scene, we feel like there should be more of her, with Ciri and with Geralt. She is that important.
My final question for you good Sir, can you please let us know if this thread and general requests I've mentioned above, have made their way to the story department and Marcin's team that's in charge of Yen? No details required.
I made lilac and gooseberries perfume for myself, bought essential olis of both, and mixed 1 drop of lilac and 2 drops of gooseberries. The smell was awesome! Sweet and erotic.
