Yes, Occasionally Mike Pondsmith Does Show Up Here...

Pure coincidence. Ripperjack is black (but I do play him as a personal character). Many people seem to assume Morgan is black, although he's been roughly based on George Clooney ever since I created him. I have no idea why--it just seemed to fit. Kerry Eurodyne's daughter is black. I actually have never thought of the ethnicity of Hammerman--I always envision him as the tough police chief in Beverly Hills Cop, so I guess he's black. Spider is a Gypsy--but my wife created her. I really don't think much about it when I create the characters; they tend to pop into my head dialogue and all. Most are based on people I have known or have met.

I must admit I was one of those who thought Morgan Balckhand was black. I don't know why, everyone in my group, well, we thought was was one bad ass black mutherfucker! Then when we saw the first picture of him, and he was white, were were like, 'what?!?!!". lol

Oh, quick question. Is Roots retuning as a illustrator for the new Cyberpunk books?

Hi Mike! S'funny, as far as the race thing goes, I'd never pictured yours in any direction. You were always just "The Guy that wrote CP" in my mind. No other attributes. I've rarely made a big deal about race in my games, unless skinheads showed up (as they so often do, unfortunately). Race, as an issue, has always struck me that way. Maybe it's the half-Jewish (but not religious or culturally so) thing I got going on (If ya wanna know which half, I'd have to reply "From the waist up."). Maybe because the only time race became an issue for me was some moron planting their boot on my neck. Man, in any case CP2020 gave me a rare and much needed psychological steam-valve to deal with that bullshit. Whenever we got skinhead-analogues (frack, any right-wing intolerance-mongers'd do...) visible in public, it was hard for whoever was GM to keep things even vaguely on track.

I still remember one game where the GM had spent months getting his story and materials together. Through three campaigns he worked tirelessly on his own run, refining, taking good ideas and making them better... If there's one thing he really should have learned through all this prep was not to start our game with a jeering walkby of Chrome Legionnaires... Three months of gaming three nights a week later, his plot got to start :p

And yeah, I'm aware of the apparent irony involved in hating bigots with a bigot-like zeal, and have grown up and moved on to pity. But if I saw them actively fucking with people (as they are want to do) then yeah, probably straight back to my edgerunner rage :p

Incidentally, my girlfriend claims I get ranty on the third day of quitting smoking. Ranty and aggressive. Personally, I think that's absolute fracking garbage, and she's just saying that because of her secret gay liberal agenda...

As happy as I am to blame Chris and/or MAcleod and/or you for anything, Mike seems to be pretty busy in Mekton. As well as flying back and forth to Poland, probably, but judging from my Mekton updates, that has the bulk of his remaining free-ish time.

He says he reads the forums often and we've no reason to doubt him.

Well, except that one reason. But, come on. It was the duck's fault.

Actually, I kidnapped him and I have locked him in my cellar!

I am forcing him to spill all about the details for 2077. I am also making him write a 2077 update for the PnP and the UK is going to be the new super power. So bow down BITCHES!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!

Hey Gang. Sorry I've been out of touch--I'm currently banging away on completing the Mekton Zero project and sundry other Talsorian related tasks. But I haven't been neglecting Cyberpunk either-- I just spent a whole week with the CDPR team out here in Seattle, plotting things for the expanded timeline. And Dave, Benjamin and I are plotting out the next Chromebook as well. Much cool stuff ahead!

There...is a CDPR team in Seattle? That's really only a few (ish) hours from me.

Ohhh..so tempting. Stalking laws in Washington State are so lenient, too! Err..I've heard...yes.

As long as you're not one of those crazy fans that love their idol so much that they would... snipe him! :S

Pfff. Snipe the man! That would be like killing the golden goose. With a voice like an angel. A large, black angel. But, whatever. I prefer him and his potent larynx free, FREE to roam and create and satisfy me...er, us. In the RPG spectrum,of course.

Also, his wife packs a mean right hook, apparently. Once you've had your nose broken a couple times, you don't look forward to a repeat experience.

No, it's the CDPR team, chock FULL of secrets that we want to now, so temptingly close. And, there is a plurality! So if they lost a a couple, the entity would still survive! The trick is to get the right combination of knowledge and replaceability. I wonder if they sent over a producer...or a marketing guy!

Actually, Dave Ackerman (RTG's old Production Mgr., who is back on the job again) is on my butt about that very subject right now. He wants to start hiring artists ASAP. So it should be by Jan 2014 at latest or Dave will kill me. And he can do it. He has mad skillz.

soooooooooooo,we looking at another classic R.Talsorian blown deadline?

Hello...
I'm thinking about how to change the world just by imagination... Finding a story that would lead to opening people's eyes on various subjects...

That is perhaps not the same goal as finding an interesting pitch to make people spend their money to be told a very full of suspense story...

But sometimes it might be possible to do both at the same time... George Orwell's 1984 was a good example in my opinion

@ MaxMike What were the motive behind writing the paper cyberpunk game at the time it was written ? What are they now ?

These are the kind of question that made me come here after reading an article about CD project and cyberpunk 2077.

Have a nice day.

We could say the same about some others...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

LOL *found guilty*

I lurk here almost everyday, just considering I don't much have to say at times since unlike the witcher I'm not a cyberpunk expert (YET)
Well since there is one hammer to rule them all, I'll try to post more often :)

It's easier now with the united forums and post notices I find. My creepy high-speed post-stalking technique efficiency has increased by 28.3 % already.
