Yet another generic "Low FPS" thread.

Okay.First off, my system -7 Ultimate 64-bit 6 gigabytes of DDR3 1600 MHz RAMIntel Core Quad Q9440 (overclocked to about 3.2 Ghz per core)Sapphire 4870 1G GDDR5Using a 1920 x 1080 HDTV as my monitorAnd a crappy MB (Asus P5P43TD, which I'll be changing next month).I have the Steam version of TW, so I have the latest patch and all my drivers (VGA, MB, DirectX, etc) are up to date.Up until now, I haven't had a single problem with running any game maxed out with AA and all the eye candy.(Yes, even horridly optimized ones like Crysis, GTA IV, Assassin's Creed II and whatnot)Only in The Witcher, especially with the Scabbard Mod, my framerate is inexplicably low. It's mostly relatively decent at 45-65, but in the Temple Quarter, Lakeside, and not to mention Old Vizima during the battle and Trade Quarter it outright DIES, i.e. drops in the teens, sometimes even lower.ESPECIALLY in the Trade Quarter, where not only is the framerate low, but it also stutters like hell - at least in Old Vizima and at the Lakeside, it's just low.Any solution/suggestion/whatever?There was a similar thread, but it was about two years old, so, yeah.

read the FAQ: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=17503.0 in there is an IFO fix that you might try .Also the areas you mentioned are huge resource hogs adding an exception to your AV may help some as well as a clean install of the video drivers

Did you clean install vid drivers or overwrite ? what version of the scabbard mod are you using or have you since uninstalled it ?The Intel overclock is it stable ?It may help to read: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Getting_tech_help_on_the_forum and attach that PCWizard report as instructeddo attach the file ERRLOG.TXT from The Witcher/System folder ( if the game crashed )

1.Clean install, removed old ones, installed new ones.2. 1.3 - the most recent one.3.It is stable.I downclocked it to default frequencies just to be sure and absolutely nothing changed.4.The game doesn't crash.I'll read that.Thank you for the help.

I've heard scabbard mod could cause low FPS even on very nice PCs. If the issue's annoying enough you may try uninstalling it and see the results.

Yeah, I am planning to do that once I get home tomorrow.Shame I'll have to give up on the scabbards, but otherwise Old Vizima would be unplayable.
