You Are What You Drive! Photo Mode Contest

So you're basically saying "don't assume mods aren't allowed when it isn't said they aren't" while you're assuming that because it didn't explicitly say they aren't disallowed that must be the case.

The irony is palpable.
I think it is very simple: If character visual/equipment mods (non-vanilla content) weren't allowed, it would've been mentioned in the OP (under "Don't") or the extended rulesets :) They didn't want more than one entry per contestant and no external editing done on the pictures so if they only wanted vanilla-only gear that V can equip they would've mentioned it, as they most likely considered accepting it or not at some point when crafting the contest rules. We must assume that CDPR is very much aware of modded content in general, as it is used by a notable portion of the community, and partly even supported by them with some dev aid/tools. So it's not like it was a sudden surprise or unknown factor.
If you want to assume and reach, however, you can do so of course, choom!

I just feel you are, how do I put this... getting angry or disappointed over a nothing-burger by and large (in reference to modded outfits at least). Like for no reason, due to a misinterpretation or insisting on it, maybe because you didn't get picked or for some other reason, I don't know.

With that said, that's all I can really mention on this topic, whether you resconsider or decide to stick to your argument. Take care and good luck in the next contest, if you take part!

I mean, yeah, that's how rules work. You're supposed to follow the rules that are provided, not the ones you make up in your head.

Having a look through the rules again, I can't see anything disqualifying the use of mods (not even a pose added to the in-game photo mode). The only way I can think of where a mod might cause problems would be if it somehow violated rule 4.6 (e.g. if someone replaced a texture with a Coca Cola logo; that could be a trademark infringement); or if it violated rule 4.7.

As long as your mods didn't violate those rules, you were fine.

It's pretty sad yeah, I think there's also been contest winners in the past that used modded outfits, so I guess they just don't care even though it says "Use only the in-game Photo Mode for your submission". Kinda spits in the face of the rest of us who abide by the rules when they show that you can ignore them and get rewarded for it.
While I do see your point of view, I have faith in the judges that they aren't oblivious to the mods being used, and that they truly do take concerns like yours into account when making final decisions. Personally, I don't use mods because it's just my personal preference and I don't feel that I am at a disadvantage against those who do because I believe there are so many creative ways to express yourself in photomode that's really unique and special. Even more so now after their latest updates. That's just how I see it. Congrats to the winners!

I’m very late but here’s mine!

@Robert Why not add an option to the photo toolbox to take VR180 or flat 360° shots? This would then allow them to be viewed through a VR headset for total immersion.
