YOU as a Cyberpunk character! What would THAT look like?

That seems to be RLKing's thing.

It is only confusing if it is taken by itself without further context. Allow me to elaborate...or perhaps pontificate (Thanks GWAR!). I was asked about my choice of idiom to a certain reply. I clarified the use of the phraseology, having borrowed a lyric from an obscure Joe Walsh lyric from a song called "ILBT'S." I hope this clarifies the confusion.

As for my part I was just amusing myself (and hopefully others) playing with the words.

I was having some fun as well, if you hadn't noticed. Play on, I say.

I understood what was going on, I was just giving ya crap. I'm a prickly pear sometimes.

Although, Su was way funnier. ;)

I really like your "CyberPunk you" details! Lot of interesting peeps here! Also good to know there's other vets here.

To answer the question: Bearded, grumpy looking, worn out combat boots, clean undershirt, outdated issued pants, a 30 pack under one arm, and a toolkit held in the free hand. Messy brown hair, soft hazel eyes. And since it's cyberpunk, a lot of exo-skin covering up old scars so he doesn't have to answer one of the worlds dumbest questions "Where'd you get those scars?". He'd be 5'8" tall, and a little "thicc" (muscular but endomorphic). He'd have no papers or information on him and only cares about tinkering, booze, high priced (And clean) escorts, gaming, and staying away from trouble as much as possible. Under his left foot would be a tattoo of his SSN/DOB/Blood type/Religion/Name, an old tat just "In case he got blown the fuck up." for identification. An unfinished Medusa Head tattoo on his back over the right kidney section. No family, an owner of a cat, has a close friend who's a roommate. Keeps a pistol with one mag LTL(Less Than Lethal) loaded, and the free mag 45. Talon shells (Or Cyberpunk Equivalent.). Tends to use his toolkit like an old lady purse when a mugger gets snippy with him; and the toolkit has an old ass "Red Castle" on it. The man is a veteran and ex-merc but only talks about it with fellow veterans and close friends, and yet still "Marches" everywhere he walks, albeit quietly. Last but not least, he almost always has earplugs in when at home or on the job tinkering.

Old "Colonial Marines" pic gives the best idea how he looks.

Not too surprising when you think about it.
CP2020 has a fairly realistic combat system and CP2077 is unlikely to be a "twitch" shooter.

Look at "Kingdom Come Deliverance", nice looking game (well once they iron a few bugs out) but combat, lockpicking, heck even sharpening your sword are all "twitch" activities. Nice as the game looks, as much as I'd like to play it, not gonna happen because of the developers choice to make it ultimately a "twitch" game with regard to basic game mechanics.

Eh, it always surprises me when a community has vets in it, especially ones who are open about due to all the anti-military crap going on. But it is nice to meet others.

Yeah, it really has it's problems. But it's not a bad first try for WHS. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes. The AI is my major issue atm with the damn game. Though I didn't know It's twitch? I may be wrong, but isn't twitch shooting (CSGO) or swordplay (Chilvary) overly fast paced and requires no skill? Lockpicking takes time, combat (if done right) feel slow and methodical to me (Slower than Fencing which is fast paced chess for metaphore sake, but still slow in comparison to most video games.), and using the grindwheel needs a steady hand as from my experience with it you can't just slam it on and roll it one time. I fucked up so many swords that way lol xD. You have to go the whole length, apply the right pressure, keep the angle correct, and takes a good 3-5 minutes.

That or I just take my time too much lol! My main complaint is combat is too easy, and NPC Combat AI is too easy to trick/manipulate. But luckily people are working on mods to correct those two issues. Oh and damnit KC:D needs to NOT end as a cliffhanger. I hate that.

Love it! I'd probably be the skinny (well, not so much anymore...potbelly...I am way too fond of beer.), short, vicious, sneaky, little f#cker that sneaks up on annoying guards and cuts their throats. Semper Fi, My friend... A cross branch courtesy since I was Army.

That's up to you, but I'm a little surprised you're willing to play TW3 but not KCD. One of those two games has far, far, far FAAAAR more RPG elements than the other - and it isn't Witcher 3. Yes, lockpicking is "twitch," but it's heavily (HEAVILY) influenced by your lockpicking skill. As is pickpocketing. As is everything else in the game. I've played the game myself and the lockpicking is not difficult. You keep a cursor in place as you turn a wheel. That's about it. If it's too hard, you up your skill until it's easy or at least doable... Sorta like an RPG.

It is, in my opinion, one of the best examples of an actual "Action RPG." It is what an ARPG should be. But it does have its problems.

If they make future titles, I actually wouldn't want them to go full CRPG, a la Pillars of Eternity or Baldur's Gate. That's not what Kingdom Come is. It's an ARPG, and it should stay an ARPG, but I hope they keep making more games and improving mechanics over time.

I heard they've already cleared about $20m in PC sales alone, so it sounds like they just might pull it off!

I played TW3 in "Story" (EZ) mode.

I certainly don't think they should go the Pillars or Balsur's route. The format they have now is just fine. I'd just like to see less "twitch' and QTE elements. While no doubt many, MANY, people prefer KCDs combat over TW3s it's just not something I can handle.

All this is based on watching people play on YouTube, I have not actually tried the game (no one I know that lives close enough to visit owns it) and it may not be as "bad" as it looks. But I'm not going to buy a game I might be able to play when all indications are I can't.

xD Semper FI to you too but I was Army myself (12B10,21W10). The Colonial Marine was meant as in the character picture based on USCM from the Alien's Franchise :p Sorry for the confusion.

I was a 54B10. Chem Ops. Decon Specialist.

I have nothing against armies, much less against soldiers. I just find wars generally absurd, even demonic.

Wars prove one thing to me: History can be as destructive as Nature.

But. As I'm a very contradictory person, I'm not a pacifist either.

On the one hand, this world is not an idealistic place, so guns, soldiers and armies are inevitable. On the other hand, the idealistic notion of a completely 'peaceful' society has also been criticized (think about H. G. Wells and his elois... who wants to be an eloi? I believe that would be terrible).

As I said, I have nothing against armies or soldiers. They're just this huge, immense, force that can be used for the better of for the worst. It really depends on the country, on the ruler class' interests, on the zeitgeist. So many variables.

I have written a short story in which there's a guy who is a General. He is brilliant and far from a good guy. But I know there are military out there who aren't "evil", much to the contrary: they try to be as good as this world allows them to be. Like the majority of us.

On a side note, many of my favorite writers have fought in wars. Actually, if you want to learn about human nature, especially the dark side of it, read soldiers' memoirs. I respect what they say, because they have lived the extreme freedom war provides. You won't see many of them talking lightly or casually about war (and you'll see Camus was right when he said freedom or justice, freedom in this case, aren't always 'positive' values).

Ok, that is just my (not very thoughtful) opinion. The number of people who have died because of their opinions throughout History is infinite, but, anyway, that's my opinion.

All right, "I should go now".

Believe it or not, SO DO MOST OF US! Wars are some of the most senseless, wasteful pastimes that mankind has ever created to fatten their egos' and their bank accounts. Having said this, protecting one's self and family is a necessity and SOMEONE has to do it...People like me. Truth be known, most of us fight, at least in our own viewpoint, fight more for our families back home and our brothers on the battlefield...everyone else can, quite frankly, go screw themselves. The sad fact is, no civilian, no matter how "With it" they think they might be, will EVER be able to truly "Get it."

Looking at all of you and glancing over myself, if we end up meeting in the game, (and I always try to model myself in MP) you'd be asking "what the hell are you useful for in our operation?", and I'll simply say "nothing". Too young to talk about any life experience. Just dropping by saying "hello". Cool thread, worth taking notes.

I'd probably be the guy you would pass by in the crowd, never suspecting a thing. I look THAT ordinary.

You and me both.
Being taller then 99% of other females and 85%+ of males I stand out in any crowd!
