I can't remember if it 's mentioned before, but it happened to me yesterday:When you play another RPG (i was playing Icewind Dale) and while you fight some goblins you thing (seriously) "where is the group style when you need it?".(Of course i play The Witcher as well! In hard, this time. The Witcher with the morning coffee, Icewind Dale at the evenings)!

...When you become suspicious of the sunshine thinking "doesn't it usually rain"...When you start to think everyone you meet is part of another elaborate conspiracy and there is no frelling way for you to get around it. ...When you feel in the mood for some action and go looking for a brothel full of vampires...

Today my husband was telling me something, and I replied "Good plan" in a voice that was halfway between my own and Geralt's. WTF? I like the guy and all, but that doesn't mean that I want to turn into him! :)

Oh my, did that startle your hubby? Does he play, too? Sounds like something from the Exorcist! :D

It did startle him a bit, but he knew whose voice it was, so he wasn't as surprised as he might have been otherwise. He knows how deeply I can get into imaginary worlds. He isn't playing The Witcher yet, though he will soon, if he knows what's good for him. :) But he's watched the opening movie and has watched me play a little bit (he gave me the game for my birthday, and he wanted to be sure I liked it -- now he's thinking that he's created a monster. :) ).I'm a clinical psychologist in real life, and a lot of what I do at work involves trying to understand what it's like to BE my client, to see the world through their eyes, so that I can understand how best to reach them. It's sort of an automatic process for me, not something that I can explain or do step-by-step. But I've never done it with a computer game character before! I mean, Geralt is more realistic than most, but still....Note to self: Turn empathy down a notch before playing The Witcher again. :)

You know you play The Witcher too much when you start talking to your patients in a voice that can only be described as half Cory, half Geralt. :D

Isn't that the best part of The Witcher - it's actually DEEP! ^^ I know the dreary atmosphere and the tough decisions have had a lasting effect on my day. When I was forced to choose in the brothel I spent two days pondering my decision and trying to decide if I did the right thing. o_O. I was deeply effected by a game! Game?! What Game?! Vizima is my home now.

Well, here goes : I live in a little house, with a small garden in front of it. All along the gate limiting my small garden, there's a line of various small trees (supposed to grow up and hide my garden from the neighborhood in a few years time)...Each time I go out of my house, my eyes instinctively do a round check of the small trees to see if there are some leaves or flowers to collect and store for making potion later ;Dyes, that clearly shows I did spent too much hanging in the swamp ! (I actually miss it since I finished chapter 3)

Apropos garden (once again) and nature... I didn't notice it cos The Witcher came out last year in October but now everything starts flourishing... and I saw the first poppies, it reminds me of Beggartick flowers. And when I see daisies I immediately think of White Myrtle but then I realise it's daisy... and I think of the prostitues who are pleased when Geralts brings them daisies ;D

I have problems with the nerves in my right arm, so I use a trackball. I played so much I lost the feeling in my thumb and some of my fingers. Thankfully I finished the game so I can let my nerves recover until the EE comes out. ;)

1. You chow down cat food thinking it might have cat potion like properties.2. You start eating grass and plants raw thinking it will cure your toxicity hang over to alcohol from last nights party.3. You start swing your sliverware knife around at the dinner table cuting the air and making swishing noises with your mouth and mimicing attack moves like Geralt the Witcher.4. You wish you could to Coups de Grace moves on people you hate or just people who annoy at that moment of time.5. When you talk to people you do funny signature hand movements like they do in the game. (That's rotate the wrist 360 and end with facing your open hand upwards like saying hi to your opponent.)6. When you see a full moon you think you have the moonrises ability and think your more powerful.

You spend a small fortune (and drive a jewelry artist crazy) having a Witcher medallion custom made for yourself. Then when walking around wearing it, you keep checking to see if it is detecting any monsters. For the record, it hasn't yet detected any magic or monsters. I'm not sure however if that is because it doesn't actually work properly, or if it is because there just arent that many kikimores in Cleveland Ohio.

OK, it took a bit, but here are photo of the medallion. It's silver, with rubies for eyes.
. There are more photos here at http://affalonhawke.com/st_wolfhead.php , including of the prototypes. Its about 1 3/4 inches wide, 1 1/4 inches tall, and the nose sticks out about an inch. I'm very happy. ;DIt was hand-sculpted by a gifted jeweler friend, who I drove insane, showing him screencaptures, making him watch scenes from the game... For the record, he's not making them production, this was a one time item, it was a heck of a lot of work.
