I had no issues with DS4Windows. Alternatively, you might want to try InputMapper.Which is why I bought it for PC.
But the problem here is that they said that the controller would be supported by the game. They didn't say we would need to jump hoops to make it work. All they had to do was to add DirectInput support in addition to XInput, like many other PC games have.
Also, I tried DS4Windows but it doesn't work. I have to map it to XInput which will make the icons in the game show up as Xbox icons. Pretty poor "support" if you ask me.
How great for meYou'll get used to the Xbox button labels.
The problem isn't the game, it's Windows. There's no official support for the DS4 controller, even if you connect it as a generic wired/bluetooth controller, Windows can't tell the difference between a DS4 or a generic controller. But the problem here is that they said that the controller would be supported by the game. You are making so many assumptions here. I have both controllers. I am not "saving a few bucks" by preferring a DS4. I simply want it to work like it was promised. It doesn't make economical sense to have native support for DS4 as the people who use DS4 will be minimum.
If you play on PC; Xbox360/X1 & compatible controller is the way to go. Plug & play in just about any game. No extra configuration need. You can get a 360 controller on a cheap these days. Its worth the small investment to save any drama on PC games. I have a PS4, but I would never use it on PC:
The XBOX controller has been the standard for PC gaming for a while, & its worth the small investment than try to save a few bucks to use the DS4. I can understand if one said they like the PS4 layout, but honestly, it wasn't that much different for the 360 controller. Its notthing you cannot get used to, & witin hours, even minutes.
I was a 360 gamer, but it took like 10 mins to get used to the DS4.
you must have done something wrong, DS4windows work perfectly fine, you literally have to do nothing, plug your DS4 start DS4windows load the driver and thats it, nothing to configure nothing to thinker , you can even make DS4windows load the driver automatically every time you plug the controllerWhich is why I bought it for PC.

Then should be pretty easy for you to play with the "wrong" button icons, because the controller itself works magnificently, just use Input Mapper 'cause it takes 5min to setup. You're making such a fuss about something so incredibly trivial.I have both controllers
