To many to count but a few really stand out:

Heretic 2 - A 1 on 1 deathmatch with a good friend of mine at a LAN party. We must have actively battled for 15 minutes with no deaths, throwing every weapon at each other (teleport disabled 'cause it's chickens***). It came down to the both of us, super low on health and ammo, duking it out with staffs. I finally landed the killing blow and he disintegrated in a shower of blood and bloody bits. Suddenly the whole place started applauding. We were so involved that we didn't realize most of the party had crowded around our 2 computers and were cheering us on.

**SPOILER ALERT**
KotOR - Taking the dark path and forcing Zaalbar to kill Mission near the end. So f***ing evil I was shocked when it happened, but hey, that was the character I was playing that time around.

The Witcher 2 - The first time I found myself wandering around outside of Flotsam and realizing that I was truly scared to be there. Made me realize how advanced the game engine was, and how talented the level designers are.

Mass Effect - Lots of them, but I've more or less disavowed that I even own that game series because of the epic fail that is the ending of ME3 and the abject failure of the Bioware developers to acknowledge that they screwed up, let alone disappointed anyone at all. If ever there was a cliche about game developers likening themselves to movie directors, or at least thinking that they are, this game proved it, and not in a good way.

1)Metal Gear Solid

The whole Gray Fox vs Metal Gear Rex sequence

Grey Fox: "After Zanzibar, I was taken from the battle, neither truly alive, nor truly dead, an undying shadow, in a world of lights. Now, in front of you, I can finally die."

2) Metal Gear Solid 3 , when Big Boss finds out the truth aka the Ending

3) Using Lion Heart for the first time (FF8)

For me? Pretty much every time two huge armies clash in Mount and Blade. Also the scene from Red Alert where Kane takes over the USSR. Come to think of it a ton of the cut scenes from both Red Alerts on both sides and the cut scenes for the Nod campaign in C&C. Warcraft IIs cut scenes were also pretty cool. And the Battle of Ostergar from DA:O.
The finale of ME1 was also a lot of fun, starting with the frantic race to the beacon before it closes.
Final conversation with Letho.

Probably it was the first time that I've finished Final Fantasy VIII. It was like leave a country full of friends and people that you like: very nostalgic :')
Also, I remember well that day and also the real life friends who shared with me that moment :D

Grim Fandango, the whole thing. That is an experience that no other game I've played can hold a candle to.

Aaah, Grim Fandango. One of my all time favorite games. Played it back when I was 14 and the game was new :p

It is a very unique game and a wonderful experience. It puts most modern games to shame. Hard to believe adventure games reached such high points and then simply... disappeared. We still have indies thankfully.

Did you vote? There's a request to have it added to the GOG catalogue. They did comply with System Shock 2, so who knows!

In fact, I wished GOG would add the entire LucasArts adventure catalogue: Maniac Mansion, Loom, The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2, Sam & Max: Hit the Road, The Day of the Tentacle, The Dig, Full Throttle, The Curse of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Escape from Monkey Island ... am I forgetting anything? These are just the ones I played :p/>

I would totally buy a bundle with all of the above.

EDIT: I WAS forgetting something! The Indiana Jones games! Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is another unique, amazing game, with superb, witty writing and clever puzzles. And it has THREE very different paths to get to Atlantis. Sigh... adventure games.

Absolutely! Those were truly glory days... Recently I played the special editions of Monkey Island 1 & 2, still among the best games I´ve ever played. Out of all those you mentioned, I only missed Grim Fandango and The Dig. Gotta play them some day.

Speaking of old adventure games, I absolutely loved the Quest for Glory saga. Played all five of them, which each of the character classes. The different approaches for the puzzles and the possibility to import your character throughout the entire saga blew my mind back then!
The end of Quest for Glory II is also among my favorite moments in video gaming, particularly if you managed to become a Paladin then.

Edit: Oh, and you missed Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, lol! Great game!

You have to vote it. They finally release Clive Barker's Undying for that reason I suppose. Well... one of the reasons.

And if you also incidentally wanna vote American McGee's Alice... *whistling*

Red alert 2. Yuri's Revenge. The mission for getting on the moon, establishing a base there, and the associated cinematic. Paid tribute to russians being the first to send a man and a dog in orbit around the moon, too. In custom map, moon patrol, i could even order the astronauts to shoot down the american flag! Those were the days!
