From the Witcher one.. I always found it funny when you walked into the Hairy Bear tavern and headed towards the fighters. That one insult.. "Your mother sucks Dwarf C**k" Always made me crack up, and stuck with me several years since playing the game.

A more serious one for Witcher two, I love the introduction of the Witchers of the Serpent. I really enjoyed the relationship with Geralt, even if he didnt truly understand it until afterwards. Letho was a fantastic character, standing out as one in a Sapkowski setting due to the obvious conflict of his appearance and intelligence. Serrit and Auckes were both interesting side characters, Witchers through and through.

Similiary, I really loved the relationship between Roche and Iorveth. I sided with Roche from the beginning, but through various play-throughs I've come to love both the characters. Their hatred for each other is underlined with a level of respect so realisticly precice.

Finally, I've just got to mention them. The Dwarves. Yarpen, Zoltan and Sheldon Skaggs.. Even that 'Lesbomancy' supporting bugger too. They're just great. Once again, the team broke the tradition of Dwarf characteristics whilst still remaining true to their origins. I love each and every one of them. "It's a dogs life" as Zoltan says throughout adventuring Flotsam is a great use of a modern saying. Perfection.

As much as I loved the story and charactes from Witcher one, I have to give your folks at CDP Red my congratulations for bringing to life such characterful.. Characters!

Oh, and the sex scene with Triss was pretty nifty. Haha.

I whole-heartedly cannot wait for the upcoming installment.
Cheers guys and girls ;)

There are so many moments in both the games that I could class as some of my favourites - but I think there is one moment of epiphany or revelation that I always bring up when talking to people who haven't played the games yet.

This moment came for me near the end of the Floatsam quest line, following the main quest line.

Before I go into detail I should perhaps fill you in on a little about my RPG history and gameplay styles. I was a metagamer or a save scummer. I have no shame in admitting this, I enjoyed playing like this and building my perceived 'perfect' playthrough. Games have typically allowed this and encouraged it as they follow a very good choice / bad choice option throughout. Rarely offering any true grey options and allowing a quick re-load to get the 'best' choice. So it was early on that suitably shattered this gameplay style for all future games and playthroughs and taught me how to stop metagaming and love the choice.

*spoilers*

As the option to side with Iorveth or Roche hovered before me - it was an easy choice. The Elves were oppressed, humans were corrupt and treated other races as lesser species. Ioverth was obviously the 'correct' choice I could make. As awesome as Roche was.
As I was basking in my obvious 'right' choice - I was left in shock as I returned to Floatsam to find it in flames and many non-humans killed. A little research later on showed me I had missed the 'extermination plan' Loredo had told me about. I promptly realised this was not good, and must have been the 'wrong' choice. So I reloaded and sided with Roche instead - only to return to a Floatsam singing, dancing and enjoying life as Loredo declares a holiday. At least for the humans. Clearly the 'right' choice. I continued on for a while enjoying the colour and vibrancy but it never felt.....right. I can't remember which character said it or when - but at one point in the game one of the characters had mentioned something about fighting for what you feel is right. The Elves and Dwarves would never be equal or free unless they fought for it. There was never going to be a 'good' or 'right' choice - only what I felt was right.

So I promptly deleted my save games - started again - and didn't make any choice from start to finish with the eye of making the 'correct' choice, I made all my choices for what I felt were the right choices.

My first complete playthrough for the Witcher 2 stands as something of a point of pride and a turning point in my gaming mentality, and the first game I ever played from start to finish (Floatsam excepted) where I didn't re-load to take different paths and continue on. I wore those choices like a badge of honour knowing full well I could be missing out on something huge or certain lives saved if I had chosen another choice.

So when I talk about gaming moments that were my favourite, I have to include throwing a one eyed Elf my sword, because it didn't just change the path of the Witcher 2, but it forever changed the path of how I would play games.

I'd have to say the the overall story of The Witcher is what got me and held me in awe for hours on end as well as the overall game design, each new encounter a new lesson to learn from,Every new area visually stunning. But what gets me the most about The Witcher 1 and 2 is through the story I as a person and gamer realized that you can't always win and be the good guy at the end of the day and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Thanks guys :)

The troll quest in witcher 2 ,
At first I trued to talk to the troll then he suddenly started to attack me and was like WTH I just want to chat I don't want to kill you !!
Then I had to fight him , thankfully I was able to talk to him and get another quest ,that was a verry funny quest , its the first time in any game that I experience somerhing like this .
Also the time were I escape prison and the place starts to blow up ,that was crazy.

And that quest where I had to walk through the war zone slowly , I was so frustrated!

A poem to honor the great story and world of The Witcher 2

A very good friend was my herald
And told me of a hero named Geralt
He said «You must buy
Give it a try»
So I got in my car and burnt asphalt.

I entered the world of the Witcher
And my life seemed suddenly richer
Iorveth became my new friend
And he was, to the end
And nothing would get me to switch there.

Foltest was killed in the tower
By a man with extraordinary power
And Geralt accused
His luck was all used
And his life took a turn for the sour.

The game was just so bewitching.
With a story and gameplay so bitching.
I knew from the start
When I played the first part
That my GOTY needed switching.

Thank you

For me the most memorable memory of the witcher was the realitonship i formed with Shani, i have a place in my heart for her being just a medic (Unlike trish) I found myself going for her just becacuse she was a sweet girl. I was kind of disapointed she wasen't in the wticher 2 but hope she makes an apperance in TW3!

Other memories i have were the bar talks and those all so special love poems by Dandelion in TW1 and TW2 (especiallyt that love poem to save the guys wife).

Lastly id say the ending duel between you are the witcher (at the end of TW2) was epic.

well. as a major fan of the fanchise I really can't say. I'm from poland, i red the books years ago. when the witcher came out i was so excited that i bought a new PC just to run it on max details. it was awesome!!! :D. to see the next chapter of the story was the most beutiful thing for me, to choose and make it my own story. then came the witcher 2, so i bought an XBOX 360 :D i didn't actually care for other games for a long time. and now the witcher 3 :)... sooo PS4 ist what i decided to buy. i moved to germany and I'm so proud that my country delivers such a mature, fun and customer loving product, that is also sooo unique. THANKS CDP RED!!!

I guess I have two moments that are now my favorite, both from the Witcher 2, some spoilers follow:

The first moment came after I'd played through the game once and was watching someone let's play it on Youtube. They made several different choices than I did (specifically they chose to join Roche) and the game's second and final chapter branched into almost completely different stories with different perspectives (albeit with the same backdrop.)

The second moment was a choice; Allow Roche to kill King Henselt, or stop him from committing murder. Let me remind you that Henselt had just murdered all of Roche's men and raped Ves, who turning out to be an incredibly interesting and fun character. When that had been revealed to me I was instantly like "Henselt NEEDS to die. Rape is unforgivable." But when I was there... I just had to think about it. I try to play Geralt as someone of Honor, and I take that into consideration with every choice I make in the game. But I eventually decided I made the wrong choice (not due to the repercussions, but rather just on some kind of moral level,) and while I shalln't tell what I did, I will say that I've replayed the game many times since and bring myself to remake the first choice.
There are many moments to love, but these are the ones that stick with me, and I still think on occasionally.

One thing that made the first game stand out to me was the more realistic European setting. I'm not from eastern Europe, but it still felt a lot closer to home than most medieval fantasy games. The landscapes and towns in the first game had something special to them.

I always talk to every villager and every character I see, and I am always checking every little corner of everything, just to make sure I am not missing anything. I've done this from my first game and never miss a spot! During my first time playing Witcher 1, I talked to an old lady in the outskirts of Vizima and she gave me the reverend's ring, I think I gave her a gift or something, anyway, my boyfriend had already played both Witcher 1 and 2 and he was so surprised that I got a ring from that old lady, that didn't happen to him! Since that point on, my boyfriend always likes watching me play because I always end up doing things and finding things he hasn't! I finished Witcher 1 and 2 and I am currently re-playing Witcher 1, I can't wait for The Witcher 3 to come out so I can explore every corner! I hope my boyfriend has learned something from the way I play! :D/>

Spoilers? (duh!)

My most memorable and most enjoyable moment was the reveal of the tie-in of Geralt, Saskia and Villentretenmerth (Borch Three Jackdraws) at the end of The Wither 2. It really brought a smile to my face unlike any other event in the game.

Why?

Because it was a great cherry on top in the story, even if it had not a great impact on its course.
Because it was a gracious tip of the hat towards the fantastic original stories and their author. (As if there wasn't enough of that!)
Because it made Saskia even more interesting, her story more captivating.
Because it was a closure AND a cliffhanger at the same time. It gave satisfaction but kept one wanting to hear more.
Because with it, the game truly did justice to all previous stories about Geralt with a worthy ending. One that was a closure AND a cliffhanger. One that left You happy yet nostalgic even though it just ended. One that You'd be fine with having as a final, complete end even if You really wanted for the story to never finish at all.

And finally, Because Villentretenmerth is awesome.

Simply walking in the forest adjacent to Flotsam, listening to the beautiful orchestra playing as the sun shined through the leaves on a warm summer's morning. The perfect atmosphere of simply being, hearing the children play, the dwarves haggle and the drunken men sing. It was a picture, no, a memory I shall hold close to my heart as the pinnacle of not simply immersion, but living in a different world at a different time.

I have to admit that I was more impressed with Witcher 1 than 2 (even though this one is also a great game), and that I also have very fond memories from when I was playing it. Geralt’s voice is incredible and perfectly suited for the character that we know from the books and the music is particularly comforting. I just loved how the story developed, the moral decisions that we have to make when searching for the Salamander, as well as the part of the story when you meet Alvin. I remember I was particularly taken by the side quests at the Fields, mainly the challenging “Hunting the Wild Hunt” and the entertaining mini-plot of “The Heat of the Day.” Monsters are epic, and trolls in Witcher 2 are amazing. It is also really cool how they represent the different personalities of the different races and their languages. There are so many things to be praised about the game, no wonder we are fans. And even though I am submitting this for the contest, I cannot pass the opportunity of expressing how proud I am of belonging to a community that is capable of showing so much passion and affection for this great fantasy world. Congratulations on your 6 years and the 6 million copies sold!

First of all, I say "sorry" in advance for my not-so-good english. Ok, that said, let's begin.

I think my most beloved moment in The Witcher series was when I read the first two books of Andrezj Sapkowski, right after finish The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, hoping to see all those great characters and their adventures; and then I realized that those books (The Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish) had almost nothing to do with the games. I went to search about that and discovered that CD Projekt RED created an hole new storyline for their games. I could only say "WOW! They've created a serie of games, based on a serie of books, and made it better than the original material? How's that even possible?!". Ok, that's an opinion of mine, many may disagree, but hey, this is MY comment, isn't it? I say what I want! (just kidding) In that moment, I could say I "fell in love" (don't be alarmed, it is just another joke) with you folks on CD Projekt RED. This is not a thing you archieve everyday day, folks, Congratulations for all of you on the development team (and all the other teams as well, if there are any), and thank you SO much for the amazing and unforgettable experiences on The Witcher series so far. Can't wait to put my hands on The Wild Hunt!

It wasn't what I saw but what I heard when I played the prologue for the first Witcher game.

When I heard the music that starts when you take control of Geralt in Kaer Morhen I knew I was playing something different from that moment. I'm not sure what was exactly that I liked but the combination of the setting, character and the music made me fall in love with the game. It was like everything about the game was different, this wasn't the classsic western RPG I grew up with nor anything similar to the JRPG, it was its own breed of RPG. So I guess I should blame the soundtrack first of all for making me a fan.
