Your Favourite NPC

As the title says, what's your favourite major NPC in the game? I've allowed 2 options because it's sometimes too hard to decide on a single NPC; also I've tried not to make the list too long: if I had included all NPCs you talk to in quests, this poll would stretch for a page; therefore I've only included NPCs you meet in several chapters, NPCs who are the most important in the gameworld, and the ones that seemed most colourful to me. I hope I haven't forgotten anybody important.Of course, if mods judge the poll options incomplete, feel free to edit them, I won't mind at all. :)_________Personally, my favourites would be Triss (because, like Geralt, I have a weakness for sorceresses), and King Foltest, because he just looks and sounds cool. The no-shit king, I would say.

Where's Siegfried, Toruviel, Yaevinn and White Rayla? Or charactes from lakeside?

You're right, I completely forgot about Ziggy and the elf. White Rayla and Torubviel appear only in the end...If I were to add them, I'd have to add Aline/Celine and lots of other minors including Raymond.

Gossip! "I'm so clever" :DThe wench and the townswoman ("I'm in the mood to spin a tale") in the Trade quarter Inn are great too... those "2nd class" NPCs add a lot to the great atmosphere of the game. And the kids!

Hmmm just one choice? Pity.My favorite characters are Kalkstein and The Professor! Both are interesting unique characters with a mysterious background (I haven't read the books yet - so please no mega spoilers - unless you reassure me that there will be more clues about them).I like about Kalkstein this for a genius typical scatter-brainy demeanor, always lost in thoughts, well versed in the alchemical and arcane arts... I like the Professor because he is not such a primitive Brute like Azar, the way he talks, the way he acts - cold, swift, elegant ... and after completing the game I have also to rethink and muse about his reasons why he joined Salamandra...He somewhat reminds me of Alucard - with a pinch of Sand and H. Lecter. (Just without the eating people)Second favorite Character would be Shani, because she can kick some serious balls ;-) .... poor poor Professor... now he is no real man anymore.... but I like him anyway!Third favorite isVincent Meis. He is not what he appears to be - at the one hand a typical grumpy human male and at the other hand a just creature with the heart at the right spot.Geralt is nice, Ok =) but he also is for me the typical lone wolf characterTriss - dunno - Usually I like female mages, no matter if she is evil or good. But Triss is too abstract for me - reminds me too much of X-Files those people who work in the background and never explain themselves... Adda... in her own way she reminds me of Qara (NWN2). Only difference, Adda has more brain and more eloquence. But the attitude is more or less the same... not my thing.

Hmm... That poll has only 2 choices, which is too little for me. I find it hard to choose two favourite TW NPCs , because almost every one of them has something to be liked for. The Professor - yes, as I've already said once, has something in common with Alucard, though I can't see a lot of resemblance to Sand (Rhian, could you say, please, what did you find similar about them, for I fail to see it :-\). Also Kalkstein - so classical scatterbrained genius. Thaler - an undercover comedy on two legs. Dandelion and Zoltan - the perfect drinking buddies ;D. Siegfried - an example of young idealist, fully devoted to his cause. Vincent - a hard-boiled cop with no small bit of Dirty Harry in him. Shani and Triss - really, what can one say here? Only that being forced to choose between two of them is one of the worst dilemmas a guy can get ;). King Foltest to my opinion is a just and powerful leader, just what Temeria needs. And others have their good sides too, except maybe De Wett and Reverend from Act I. That's why it's really hard to choose only two in this poll.

The Professor and Sand are both blessed with a very eloquent dagger-tongue - dealing barbed comments that always have some "sub-meanings" hidden in them.I found the comment about "Obeying" from the Professor in some way similar to Sands reponse to Sir Nevalle's summonings regarding the trial...

I see...You have a certain point here. But if I only could remember what Sand said at the trial... something about Neverwinter's loyal servants and more ;DPerhaps I should ask my cousin - she played NWN2 more that 10 times, and the trial was her favourite part of game (she refused to tell me why :-\, though I have a good guess about it ;D), sometimes I caught her replaying the trial again and again. So I guess she must've memorized all the dialogues by now.

That's not difficult for me. I take a fancy to Triss so I gave her my vote. She should look a little different, but she is still beautifull and not only in the visage. ;)

In the books though Triss is supposed to have horrible burns to her body. She says at one point she'll never wear an open dress...well, I guess they've got around to completely healing her, which is great.Ithe fursther I read, though, the sadder the game's storyline seems...the true love of his life was Yen, and he doesn't even remember her (although, strangely, he does remember his "adventure" with Shani in Oxenfourth...).

Thats a bug of sorts in the open ended quest system, there is a path where you get told by someone else about the adventure.

It's not only the trial. When you enter the Court/Castle Never with Sand the first time just to talk to Nevalle and Lord Nasher, you get into a situation where Nevalle asks you to check out a house with possible Luskanian spies. And when you tell him at the end "I didn't say I'll do the job" or something like that you get applauded by Sand... If you take accept the job in a typical "Hero" manner Sand becomes pretty much acidic... and says something like "You fit well into the court... to think that I believed you to be different..." (sorry haven't memorized it...;-) )Sand himself has not really much of a choice, he owes Lord Nasher and has to obey... as a Djinni would do.But he still tries to cause as much pain in the ass to Nevalle as possible lol :) by swinging mean speeches at him.The Professor is in my opinion not any different. He keeps biting Azar's butt with using comments about how primitive or stupid he is...

I'm probably the only one, but I thought Berengar was a fascinating character, if somewhat short lived. At first (before you meet him) he is very elusive, not really sure what to expect of this guy. When you finally meet him, he was not at all what I expected. Seemed like a very real person to me, with some big inner problems that ended up ruining his life, but still a good heart somewhere. I must say I felt bad for the guy. Nice job on this character, Devs, not often do I care about an NPC.

My votes went to Zoltan and Thaler, although it was a tough call because there were several other characters I liked a lot.Zoltan I liked because he seems the perfect sidekick in person. He is blunt, but humorous and charming in his own way. His views on society are very convincing and I liked pretty much all the conversations I had with him. Too bad he never joins you on any adventure in the game, but that might be an idea for an expansion with the toolset or perhaps a sequel.Second I chose Thaler. His comments made me laugh on more than one occasion, and the fact that he turns out to be one of those 'not what he seems to be' characters, without being one of those overdone unbelievable super heroes (or villains) makes him stand out just a bit above the rest.Runner-ups for me were Siegfried (the first 'paladin'-type character that I've been able to appreciate in years) and Berengar (for reasons noted before by SD1612). Closely followed by Triss, Dandelion and the Professor.

My votes went to Triss and...abovely all....Kalkestein!Triss is a fantastic character and I hope to see her again in future sequel or expansion like Kalkestein! During the talking between Geralt and Kalkestein about a cure for Meiss, Kalkestein is great! But I like a lot of NPC: Siegfried for his sense of duty; Zoltan and Dandelion cause they are the great friends of Geralthino; Vincent Meis and Carmen cause their love story is really romantic in a world full of decadence; Adda and King Foltest are really charismatic people

my votes went to Carmen, and the Resolute girl ;D..The little brat is one of the most interesting NPC's i've ever met in a game...Just because she has an aura at her of"I know something you don't,lalalala"
