Yeah, by far the best villains and also my favorite questline. The only things I didn't like was the "sabbath" and the too easy fight against them.
Would have prefered if Ciri wouldn't have been powerful enough to defeat all 3 of them at the same time. It made them seem much less powerful than teased before (Geralt mentioning several times how powerful they are)
And I would have liked if they would have kept their original concept regarding the sabbath and didn't sanitize it to the boring garden party we got in the game.

True.....Old badass witches and falling like flies...no power behind them

/sign....
Dont understand why the changed this great concept....
It's really boring..to be honest...

I think I like Phillipa, she isn't an in your face villain but you know she is trouble, when she tries to involve Ciri in the lodge under the impression she can manipulate her like she did with Saskia, and don't forget what she did with Saskia. Also when you went with her on a quest she mentions briefly her plans for Yeneffer, they are not very nice either. She isn't a good person.

Not surprised to see the Crones #1. They got the most development and time spent on them, and they actually were threatening. You had no idea what they would do and what they were capable of. Most of the other "bad guys", I knew were just some sword slashes away from laying flat on their backs in a pool of blood whenever Geralt felt like it.

blown away that so many chosethe Crones. I did, too. Most mysterious, interesting villians in the game by quite a bit. The WIld Hunt antagonists just don't get developed beyond "we need your world to survive. Sorry. It's ours" motivation. They're neat to look at but not exactly deep.

Crones, however, are another story entirely. And literally. What they could've done with those hags.....sigh. Plus, withthe last one disappearing, she just kind of hung there. Never ran into her again. I totally expected to pay for Ciri letting her get away.

Edit: I'm not really sure Djikstra should even be on this list. Sure, he can be antagonistic, but just because his agenda is different than Geralt's doesn't make him either evil or a villain. If you play certain way, he's generally honorable as he keeps his word, not the hallmark of a true villain. Th Roche situation at the end is simply a patriotic power play, not an act of evil. He's trying to save Redania, which si a reasonably noble goal, albeit misguided. I loved that character. Themost compelling and Interesting NPC in the game by far.

Imlerith.

I mean, I know that technically, the Crones are the best villains cause they're the most developed, but the thread is about the favourite, not the best.

And I picked Imlerith cause he was the one who gave me the strongest motivation to hate him
cause he freaking killed Vesemir. He was my fav!

Plus, his appearance (like every member of the Hunt) is badass as fuck.

The crones are the only villains with whom you get to talk, who've got some kind of story to go ith, so no surprise they come first.
Absolutely no other antagonist has anything resembling dialogue, story or explanation of why he does something.
Djikstra is not even a villain in my eyes so he shouldn't even be in the list. Same for Radovid. Why is he there and not Emhyr?

Like many others here, I agree with the Crones being the best antagonists in the game. I liked Menge as well though, that whole segment where you talk to him as Triss is getting tortured next door was awesome.

The whole dialogue felt like one big choice vs. consequence as you did it- get the information you need or save your friend? I think CDPR missed a good opportunity here, they could have had more significant consequences for one or the other in this scenario. What I was thinking is maybe a noticeable injury on Triss, perhaps a branding on Triss' face that would last the entire game so that the player would be constantly reminded of the cost it took to get that information. And vice versa, if you blew the cover you would not get the information but alas it would be too late, and Dandelion would be seriously injured/killed by the time you did.

Its nice and all, but no one from 3 comes close to Letho in The Witcher 2. Even though he is just the antagonist and not really a villain, he seems like the most developed and coolest character cdpr created. He is not some guy from another world or some fantasy monster, letho is just a witcher with a completely different agenda, who crosses paths with Geralt. I like more grounded antagonists then some fantasy stuff. But if i had to choose well developed villians in 3, have to go with the Crones and Menge second. Should have been Eredin, but i never felt threatened by him.

I chose other there is a villain that isn't mentioned .......The priest of eternal fire that is a cereal killer don't remember the name .... This could be far the best non impact villain in game .

Wild Hunt just didn't make it

It's embarassing to see how bad the Wild Hunt villains were taken by the audiance of TW3. The portration of the Wild Hunt in TW3 is the bankruptcy of storytelling at the end of the game. I can not understand how it can be that the writers made such great characters as Dijkstra, the Crones, Letho but made such a mess with the main antagonists.

Such a shame since the whole third game is based on the final confrontation with the Wild Hunt after which the story of Geralt is wrapped up. So many mistakes were made with the presentation. Eredin is a clown, nobody can take him seriously. Caranthis is not worth mentioning since he has no dialogues and nobody interacts with him in an intelligent way besides Ciri and Geralt kicking his ass (Caranthir who?). Only Imlerith got something like a glimpse of nice presentation. It's maybe nonverbal but there are quite nice scenes that show you the PERSON Imlerith. Remember his fighting style (using a big ass mace instead of the fancy Aen Elle swords), his desire for drink and lust (shown on the Bald mountain when he hangs out with the succubusses and takes a drink after a hard battle like it's common among fierce warriors in ancient times). Imlerith is actually the only Wild Hunt villain that has his INDIVIDUALITY. In comparison all other Wild Hunt characters are your standard copy paste, scary thugs who do evil things for the sake of being evil.

There is no complexity, no moral gray zones, no agenda/motives/dialogues. They are just black because it looks scary and huge for the sake of looking menacing, but from a psychological point of view they're not interesting in any way.

When i saw them first a was amazed how great they LOOK but that was just from the outside, later i realized there is nothing behind that scary sceleton armor. Just some polygons and smoke blowing.
