Żmija - new novel by Andrzej Sapkowski

Andrzej Sapkowski has announced details about his new novel, which will be published in Polish in the first quarter of this year. It's titled "Żmija" (Polish for Viper or Adder), and will be set during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, with Soviet soldiers as protagonists.Of course, the real-world setting doesn't mean that there won't be any fantasy in it.

Ausir, I take it that translation as "snake" won't do? Only "viper" or "adder"?

I have read only two of his books so far, but they 're enough to make me want read every line he has ever wrote or is about to write. I hope all his work will be published at least in English.

I won't read the spoilers there, because I want to read the book in future (didn't read yet) and You'd also prefer having no spoilers I assume. If You want spoilers - then maybe somebody else would say something :)In overall the book didn't stand up to the expectations - it's relatively short (about 300 200 pages I think) and some people say Sapkowski is writing worse than before - some even say Hus Trilogy was worse than Witcher and Żmija is worse than Trilogy. Some say it's alike Hus Trilogy and I claim Trilogy as well written. So... it depends from reader actually. What information would You like more? :)Thanks Arwil :D

I think You covered me. :) It's disappointing how Andrzej Sapkowski did what i was afraid of. And this is, he wrote a successful saga and after that... nothing good? :( In any way, thank You very much, Vatt`ghern, for the information.

Why? Is Narrentum bad? I ask because I may have the possibility of getting it second hand. Actually the subject (the peasant uprisings and the whole "heretic movements vs. official Church" thing during the Middle Ages) kind of always interested me...
