Sadly that is the movie, which from all accounts is a good series edited into a pile of warm dogdoo...The series as far as I know has not been released on DVD as yet. I wont argue the legalities with you, but know as soon as the series is available I'll be ordering it... So really no harm...

Having just seen the first episode of the series, when i first saw the training parts, I thought that too, but as it went on, I started to doubt it... It looks painful, it looks harsh, but no worse than some medical procedures today... Like say chemotherapy..And I imagine if Witchers are needed...
