Romance and Sex in The Witcher 3

I'm not asking that it becomes an all open buffet, I'm not asking for this feature in the same way gays ask for inclusivity, I'm asking this in the same way that a prisonor asks for food, it's something that should've been their but isn't because of some inexplicable reason.

Also if we're gonna talk about manpower and resources then I don't think we should be having these in the first place; you know manpower and resources wasting in animating and programming and adding sounds and so on.

Listen, I am from Jordan, and though I personally have no issue with sex in media, as it basically natural to humanity, in WItcher 1 the ENTIRE sex cards were OPTIONAL!

In the Witcher 2, only the first scene of the game was forced upon you, the entire sex scenes of the game were OPTIONAL!

If you are against sex being shown in general, most people are not, if you don't want it, then don't play the Witcher games, simple as that.

A false analogy; nobody is holding you prisoner and forcing you to play this game, or denying you sustenance so that you must play the game or starve. It is exactly the same as ordering a Reuben from a menu of hundreds of sandwiches and then complaining because it has cheese.

Artists have the freedom to devote their effort to portraying that which they determine is needed within the total work of art they produce. If the art director decides sex scenes serve a needed purpose within the game, they are scheduled in, and effort is put into them. This is not a waste unless they do their work badly.

If the game is not for you, then I am sad that it is not for you, but I would rather it meet the expectations of millions of fans than of one objector.

It's natural too humanity sure but it's not supposed to be publicized like what it is, it's supposed to be something done by to people in private, not something that you see in media as if it's comedy.

For no reason whatsoever would sex be able to serve a purpose, otherwise porn would've been some sort of creative art.

I couldn't have said it better, Sagi.

This is like a vegetarian ordering a hamburger and then complaining that there is meat in it,
demanding the chef to change the recipe.

nope, that's like eating the hamburger and realizing it was made out of human meat; it's wrong and shouldn't be happening. (what i said could've been the worse example ever, i suck at it XD )

I'm sorry but when did I call anyone immature?

You accused, in so many words, the members who disagreed with you of lacking maturity and wanting to see sex on screen just to see sex.

This forum will not countenance a continuation of your argument in the manner you have chosen. The moderators may suspend members who do not comply with orders to cease. Please don't make us do that.

Right. Media is just for depicting all the other stuff people do. And sex is never, ever comedic in real life.

@mkdewidar; you made a comment, now deleted, along the lines of "you people here can't be talked to, because you see sex as "beautiful" or "sensational". Whats wrong with beautiful ? And I think you are the first to use the word sensationalist.

But tell me this please, is the irony of this situation completely lost on you ? You are the one here taking a moral absolutist position on the issue of female nudity & sex (everything is either absolute right or absolute wrong, depending on your personal belief system).

Most, if not all, of the other comments can be viewed as moral universalism (where if an action is right (or wrong) for others, it is right (or wrong) for us. Those who do not rise to the minimal moral level of applying to themselves the standards they apply to others—more stringent ones, in fact—plainly cannot be taken seriously when they speak of appropriateness of response; or of right and wrong, good and evil.").

You see, essentially you demand females abide by rules such that they cause no temptation to menfolk, yet by doing so you abdicate all responsibility in those very same menfolk to control their own base desires.

Its hypocritical, doesn't stand up to scrutiny, has been used o justify the horror that is FGM, and crucially: is intractable since it will not allow compromise & understanding to be reached between different peoples.

An evolutionary deadend if there ever was one.

Personally I am not unsympathetic with such all-fashioned, 19th century views on the matter. I would have lived in Victorian England just fine, with no porno and nudity around. But we happen to live too little too late in history, and social norms have changed. The Witcher games are actually pretty good in this respect - you can skip prostitutes, and refuse to have sex with NPCs. But if I choose to have sex, to have a cut-scene is pretty normal, in my opinion. That is what Geralt sees, that's all. He does not have sex on a town square, you know :)

Protests of moderator decisions must be by private message. The forum is not a venue for such protests, whether or not you believe them to be justified.

Comedy?

Ride to Hell Retribution had comedic sex scenes ....

The scenes in Witcher 2 felt mature, and not "comedic".

If you were referring to another developer than CD Projekt Red, I would take your post somewhat seriously, but this developer did the most mature "sex scenes" in gaming in the Witcher 2 thus far, at least, to me.

Your right social norms have changed, to the worst that is.

Just to clear a misconception, by public I mean that it's shown on TV and in games, not by in the streets.

Anyway, I currently regret posting my opinion and trying to convince people about something. apparently being against sex in media makes me a criminal -which after reading a lot of posts here- I'm happy of being. I'm happy of sticking to the old norms.

I wish no one starts quoting me again, cause I'm not willing to keep up with all this. It's useless. I will still play the game, only to recognize the RPG masterpiece it is and not to watch digital people have sex and say its "beautiful" an "meaningful".

have fun watching triss and the others.

Good Day/Night.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt !

There's a river in egypt called denial? denial is done by humans when something they love might go away, they deny it has any harm.

In some aspects I agree sex should be a private matter between you, your four or five partners, the vegetables and livestock used, the blacksmith and tanner who provide you the necessary whips, cuffs, hoods and chains, the Maori Haka dancers you hire to cheer you on and of course the gent who provides your soundproofing. But i'm old fashioned, and one day I know that i'll settle down with the dance troupe who are right for me, and go into our sunset years gagging on an orange, while being choked by a trained gibbon.
