Computerbild.de Preview of Witcher 3 (German): http://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cbs-News-PC-The-Witcher-3-8050769.html

Short translated summary:

  • strong female characters, Yennefer in particular appears to be almost superior to Geralt, they don't just wait for Geralt to go on a journey with him
  • Quest designer Nikolas Kolm: "For me Cirilla is the main character in Witcher 3. The story is actually about her. Geralt is just the vessel through which we narrate the story."
  • Ciri plays faster and more agile, doesn't have an inventory
  • game is in the early hours very story-intensive and less open with a lot of well done cutscenes, Skyrim-like open world opens up later in the game after a few hours
  • Level Designer Miles Tost: hundreds of houses to visit, even if not quest-related, each house individually decorated with well thought out background and assets fitting the respective living conditions
  • During the studio visit Miles worked on a wine cellar for the Touissant expansion. But it was just a mere placeholder without any decorations or assets which proves that indeed nothing is cut out of the game and the expansions are just newly made stuff.
  • there will be some fetch-quests but most quests are really sophisticated and they cover the whole palette of human emotions, small side activities and quests also interesting and often humorous
  • quests and encounters are challenging and often not just done in a minute, often you have to try them more than once
  • quests are logically arranged in the world to avoid too much backtracking, fast travel should help even more in that regard
  • world shows amazing attention to detail, appears highly immersive and lifelike
  • in the preview version there was wind pretty much everywhere, even in closed buildings Geralt's hair wasn't spared
  • only one rather strong opening animation for all kinds of doors
  • indeed almost no loading screens in the whole world
  • preview verdict: impressive, probably must-play title this year

Interesting interview with Anton Logvinov, Russian journalist and youtuber who attended the last event at the CDPR's HQ.

A few interesting bits:

- He will get the final build of the full game for review by the start of the next week. He will be playing the PS4 version for his review.
- He encountered only very few bugs when playing the game for 12 hours at the last event.
- He insanely enjoyed the combat. It clicked together completely after about 4 hours with the game. He liked what the open world adds to the combat.
- You can defeat opponents which are of much higher level, if you control Gerlat carefully and know what you're doing.
- Marcin Iwinski definitely looks very tired.
- Ciri doesn't have inventory.
- He can't wait to start his full review playthrough next week. From 12 hours at the preview event, he thinks that it seems that CDPR managed to achieve all of their extremely ambitious goals with this game.

EEmmmmmm. Interesting. But did not understand anythink :)

Rough translation: The video gives 5 (rather interesting/spoilery) background facts about the game...

5) Known facts about the size of the game, the only newish fact there: All dialogue of the game written down, would have roughly the length of the Lord of the Rings books.
4) CDPR was honored by the Polish government (even got the "congressional medal" - kinda - for the Witcher 2), and their prime minister gifted a collectors edition of the game to Barack Obama back when.
3) Wild Hunt will be shipped with modding tools and the team is especially looking forward to story mods made by the community. The quest designer in the interview was a modder too before he entered the business... he also remarked the the first mod that will probably come out will be a nude mod.
2) Jut some speculations about the cast for a big budget Witcher movie, if Hollywood should ever come knocking. Oh, and there apparently is a sequel to the Witcher TV movie in the works in Poland.
1) The funniest bit: Apparently, the 16 hours adult mo-cap scenes (of which over 10 minutes will be in the game) was done by an actual married couple... also: It seams that we will not be able to to get it on with Triss AND Yen in one game, so we will not see every adult scene there is in a single play through.
