Progression breaking crash to desktop (pls help)

I am consistingly experiencing the same game breaking crash to desktop during the "With a little help from my friends" quest. During the battle with the Militech escort after blocking the road with the train. The game crashes shortly after the start of the battle, somethimes immidiately, sometimes a little later.

Game files are fine, graphic drivers up to date (nvidia), it doesnt matter if there are mods installed or not, it doesnt matter if graphic setting are low or ultra. Doesnt matter if I run the game as an administrator or not, it doesnt matter what priority I assign the game. Crash reports tell me nothing.

I also cleared out all surounding missions and mission triggers. The crash consists. The game runs completely crash-free otherwise. The one exeption being the Sparky sniper rifle, if also leads to an immidiate crash to desktop if I try to fire it. No idea if that is related or not.

This really annoying since it blocks the Panam mission progression. There are some people with the same problem to be found, but very little and no answers yet.
Would very much appriciate any help.

I had this same problem a few days ago until I removed the helper mod called Cooked Apps Nulled which goes in the ...archive\pc\mod folder. Would consistently crash after starting the gunfight, removing it fixed it completely for me on 2 separate playthroughs.

The only other thing I did was delete all files in the ...\R6\cache folder then verify game files through Steam/GOG to get them back. This didn't fix the issue for me until I removed that mod, but may have also contributed so if all else fails might be worth a try.

Thank you very much for the tip, unfortunely that didnt solve it. I should mentions that the crash occurs even with a fully vanilla version of the game.
