Patch install problem

Hi, installed Witcher 2. Hit launcher (in admin mode) and it keeps asking me for the Activation key, which I enter. It then proceeds to download the 10gb patch. At the completion of the download, the TW2EE_Patch file says the version of the patch is not compatible with my version of Windows it says check to see if you need an x86 version or x64 version. I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
How do I correct. I have looked and I do not see a specific download of the EE edition for 64bit windows.
I hope I don't need to download the 10gb patch again!!

It has been such a long time since i`ve heard of this error . And no there is no specific 64 bit version . It`s possible that you didn`t get the entire download .

However you can claim your digital backup from GOG with all patches already included . It is larger than the 10 GB patch though . But so many extra goodies .

Hi thank-you very much for the help. Have now downloaded via GOG as advised, and after also installing a hotfix, it's all systems go! Cheers again for the help!
