New website for managing Characters and Campaigns

Looks fantastic so far. Certainly more accessible and game specific than Obsidian portal. The skill section needs some work, I created a character and some of the skills are doubled. Also, it would be good to have an option to remove a pickup/chipped skill from the list. -- Ben

    Character Sheet

Thanks. I just updated the sheet, adjusted the boxes for weapon stats to give more room to the Damage field, and also provide a Field for Cost. Also, the Total Gear Cost field at the bottom now takes Weapons and Cyber cost into account. The link is the same (see above). -- Ben

    Jury-rigging the system: Houserule collection

Here's my quick & dirty character creation house rules: Stats: Roll 9d10 (reroll 1s and 2s). Total 'em up (reroll everything if the total is 56 or less). Spread 'em out amongst the 9 Stats (minimum 2, max 10). Career Skills: 40 points like normal, spread 'em amongst the skills listed in your...

What if certain parts of your body could be cut off, burnt and hurt etc,

Not sure if it was this way in the books off the top of my head, but they way we always played it was that real limbs that were vat-grown from your own DNA were actually cheaper and easier to get, but getting a cyberlimb was a fashion statement. -- Ben

    Weapon Design System?

Weapon Design System? Hey all, I'm in the process of starting a new CP2020 campaign, and one of my players has a Techie who specializes in custom weapons (guns, specifically). Has anyone come up with any kind of system for this? Right now I'm thinking along the lines of a new weapon project...

    Character Sheet

Character Sheet So I was thinking of starting up a new CP2020 campaign recently, and I looked online and realized I couldn't find decent form-fillable PDF character sheets anywhere. So I made my own. It basically follows the layout of the original, but it's cleaner. You can find it here. -- Ben

    Memory Units

When Mike & co wrote 2020, there was a serious scarcity issue when it came to storage. You had floppies ("I've got 1.44 MB of porn on this bad boy!") and your hard drive (lucky to get 40 MB in 1990), CD-ROMs weren't common until a couple of years later. We're really past all that now. There are...

    In game character Perspective!

I was going to say yes to the first part, but now that I'm thinking of it, it would be better to grab a cheap wireless webcam, place it where you need it, then tap into it and have it feed the display into your cyberoptic. As for the second part, the thought of people walking around with...

    The (Open) Game World Discussion!

I seem to remember the Night City sourcebook dividing up California fairly equally into Northern and Southern, and Night city was just north of the border. -- Ben

How would you feel about Cyberpunk 2077 always online ?

My internet connection is on all the time, but I despise the ideas behind always-online DRM. If I'm playing a single-player game, or even a multiplayer game with my friends on a LAN, the game should NOT have to phone home. That's [one of the reasons] why I stopped playing Diablo 3. I would...

    Factions

If nothing else, friendliness to various factions should help determine how they deal with you when you run into them on the street. Say you do a favor for the Blood Razors, they get more friendly, and won't try to mug you. But that hurts your reputation with one of their rival gangs, and they...

    How does an Aerodyne work?

CDPR about languages in the game

From what I understand, this approach is being taken by the devs in lieu of localisation. All I suggested is that it take the possibility into account of the character naturally knowing whatever language is being spoken by the NPCs, and providing a level of translation (via subtitles)...

CDPR about languages in the game

I have to say I'm really liking this idea from a UI/Gameplay standpoint, but I would hope that the devs are not onverlooking another possible option, which is characters actually learning other languages. I'd like to have a character that, while speaking English natively, also picked up a little...

    Favorite Cyberpunk Quotes

I was running a game a couple of years ago, my friend Will was playing a rocker named Quinn, who was on the run for shooting someone in a very public place. He decides to head back to his place to grab his Oh-Shit-Kit and get the hell out of town. He's heading up the stairs to his 4th-floor...

How is netrunning going to be handled, if at all?

I think what they meant is that traditionally in the PnP game, Netrunning ends up getting sidelined because it usually takes the other players out of the game. If the non-netrunning players are left sitting there doing nothing while the GM is going through a netrunning session with just one or...

    Nightclubs

I loved Vampire: Bloodlines in general, but it was a picture perfect example of how not to do a nightclub. Music wasn't loud enough, and there weren't nearly enough people. Mandatory for getting nightclubs to work properly in a game like this: 1. Find a low-cost way (in terms of processing...

    Icnic Characters

My main question is this: Are they extrapolating the 2020 timeline out to 2077 (to explore new developments in the in-game world), or are they transplanting the 2020 setting to 2077 (to help in-game events make more sense in light of real-world developments in the last 20 years) and retconning...
