Stuck at the end of Chapter IV

I'm experiencing the same issue from this two year old thread: http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher/q_cant_finish_chapter_iv/page1

I didn't receive the quest phase of "The sword I received has a destiny of its own. Time will tell what that destiny is " DESPITE getting the sword from the lady. It's stuck on "The Lady of the Lake promised me a gift. I need to be patient." Berengar is still sitting by his campfire and not meeting me by the boat on the island as intended.

I've scoured the internet looking for a solution to no avail. I've tried unpacking my save file, replacing the Path of Destiny quest with one that has the current quest trigger I need. That didn't work.

Anyone have a solution to this?

Unfortunately for me, I deleted all saves prior to this (the amount of saves were taking up too much space.)

Turns out the other save that I used to fix the quest was at the incorrect phase of the quest. I came across this post: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/thre...-Berengar-Bug?p=359904&mode=linear#post359904 and it says to have attached a file, but I can't seem to see it. Any moderator witchcraft you can use to access that file? I should be able to fix it from there.

No worries, managed to fix it. Special thanks to @Corylea for her save games db, where I got the correct quest phase from.

Well, I'll take a look at your save, and if it can't be fixed, I'll upload a save with choices close to the ones you've made

EDIT: Yea, your save won't even load for me, so I don't think I can fix it.

It's an issue that's caused by doing quests in the wrong order. If you can upload an older save that's before talking to the Lady of the Lake about Dagon, then it should be easy to fix, as it's just a matter of playing through the quests in the right order. If you don't have a save before that point in the game, then the... brute force fix will only work until just after the start of the Epilogue, so you would then need to use a save from a different person and playthrough to finish the game.

That won't be a problem. I have all of my save files. But if you'd tell me the quest order I must follow, then I could play the chapter 4 from the beginning as well. Plus, thanks for the quick reply.

I think that you need to make sure Berengar's questline is done, i.e. you've talked to him about destiny and have told this to the Lady, before starting up the Dagon conversation with her.

I've done that. But despite that, Paths of Destiny quest still doesn't update. It says: The Lady of the Lake promised
me a gift and I must be patient (something like that).

But in other forums, I also read that when I talk to the Lady of the Lake about the destiny and Berengar, I should go to the Lakeside and return to Lady of the lake again. I didn't try that to be honest. I'll try it tomorrow since I'm on mobile now. Not sure if it will update the quest though.

Oh, I see where the problem is, you must finish the Heat of the Day quest first. Also, make sure you do the Berengar talk and then report to the Lady before starting up the Dagon part.

Finally, you forgot to collect your 1000 orens reward from Kalkstein for the Swamp Tower quest, shouldn't affect anything but... maybe see if you can talk to him about it if you happen to meet him again.
