(Article) 'The Witcher 2' Didn't Try to Offer Endless Freedom, and That's Why It Was So Good

TW2 is definitely the best of the series in my opinion. For me the main story is the most important part in a game series like TW and TW2's pain plot was very compelling and well written throughout. I loved the linear structure, it allowed for more focused storytelling. Still really like TW3 a...

    Pre-made Character or Player-Created Character?

Custom is fine as long as its not too much of a blank slate (Shepard from Mass Effect was a good compromise in that regard), hate those type of characters. Also him being voiced is very important too. ---------- Updated at 11:29 PM ---------- No lets hope they don't go backwards with...

Did you like the Geralt's supporting role in W3?

He was the main character for most of the game, just from the point when he found Ciri the latter became more important (which I disliked since Ciri is fucking boring). Thankfully in the expansions it was Geralt in the center again.

Is CDPR moving in the wrong direction?

They are not moving in a new direction at all, you are imagining things OP just because you didn't like the last expansion ---------- Updated at 02:56 AM ---------- Damm lets hope not. BSN just became a shitty place, even Bioware is sick of it now and is shutting it down. Lets hope CDPR fans...

    Remember this company? Wha' happened?

Lol people and their nostalgia, always annoying if you ask me.

I realized another reason why TW2 is superior to TW3

Skellige would have been better as an expansion like toussaint with B&W imho. I liked the quests there and the atmosphere but it just didn't fit at all and killed the pacing of the game even further. Velen and Novigrad made sense. Also I agree with people here saying that Ciri was a boring...

Analysis: With Witcher 3 CDPR no longer treat the players like adults [SPOILERS]

Exactly and I can't really blame them. TW1 and TW2 weren't that popular all things considered, they wanted TW3 to be accesible to new players. So they dumbed down the politcs and made a standalone story with barely any references to the previous games. But like I said the open world, the great...

[Spoilers] What's your Opinion on Blood and Wine?

Finally finished the story (with some side quests, not all). Outstanding Expansion, thanks CDPR! Loved the story for the most part, the characters, the region was so different from the one's in the main game and it was a joy to explore etc. I was really glad they brought Regis back, now I wish...

Analysis: With Witcher 3 CDPR no longer treat the players like adults [SPOILERS]

Its as much a sequel to TW2 as the latter was to TW1, so basically not at all. Thats been a flaw of this series since the beginning, each game is a standalone and made to appeal to new players. People complained about the Mass Effect Trilogy but it was far more consistent and choices mattered a...

Triss Merigold of Maribor (All Spoilers) Resurgence

Overall I liked the final conversation with Triss a lot, even though I wish she had a bigger role. Some kind of Citadel DLC esque party would have been great, lol.

    Dragon Age: Inquisition

Agreed, DA:I was awful and very disappointing for me. The open world is one of the reasons why it was so lacking, just big zones with no depth and meaningful side quests, instead we got the same old lame fetch quests and mindless grinding. Worst of all, the zones had no connection to the story...

    After many years...

Well if you don't care about them then obviously the story will be lacking for you. Personally I never thought the politics were too complex and I cared a lot about Geralt and Triss (before in TW1 I didn't care about them) and the new characters like Iorveth and Roche were great too. Letho was a...

Almost forgot what an amazing game The Wicher EE is! (with 2TB disk space for it =)

The atmosphere is great but apart from that its just so dated now. The Voice acting is awful, the story is lacking and characters don't feel right (Alvin and his story especially but Triss is weird too here) etc. Not to mention the gameplay...hard to go back TW1 for me at least while I can play...

Witcher 3 needs a combat overhaul

I think the combat is fun, don't see any problem with it to be honest.

Analysis: With Witcher 3 CDPR no longer treat the players like adults [SPOILERS]

lol you are blowing things out of proportion. If anything TW1 was the childish game, there were a ridiculous amounts of flings for Geralt that made no sense and how is having sex with random strangers after giving them candy adult and mature? We never saw other people having sex in the other...
