GAME CRASH TO DESKTOP --EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)

+
The game crashes to the desktop. I tried all the solutions on the internet but to no avail.Sometimes it crashes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours, but there is one point that draws my attention: it crashes at certain locations within the game, and some of these locations are usually outdoors.

Solutions I tried

1-I reinstalled the video card driver with DDU.
2-I repaired windows files with sfc scan.
3-I ran it as administrator and Windows 8 was selected as compatibility.
4-windows updates checked.
5-game files verified via steam.
6- I turned off a few in-game settings that I couldn't think of.

here is my error message

Error reason: Unhandled exception

Considering your hardware you should check out the minimum system requirements for Cyberpunk (starting with Update 2.0).

Also, setting the compatibility to Windows 8 may not be ideal as Windows 8 is not supported.

If you are on Steam or GOG you can revert to the old version 1.63:

That version should work with your PC as far as I can tell...

You can also set the Framerate to 30 and make sure the resolution isn't higher than 1920x1080.

Other than that, CDPR support can be reached here:
After checking out their suggestions in this article, you can click on "contact us" to send a ticket.

I left a ticket. However, despite everything, I am still experiencing crashes. There is no mod in my game. I went back to the old 1.63 version by following all the suggestions and made a clean installation, but I am still desperate.

I think I have solved the problem at its root. I did a lot of research on the internet, but I couldn't get any results, so I decided to look at the event viewer. Under the Errors tab, there was an error called nvlddmkm, and interestingly, it seemed to occur right around the time the game crashed. So I started researching. Only cyberpunk 2077. There was no one experiencing this problem. Maybe there was, but they were not aware of it. This problem seemed to occur in other games as well, and the solution is as follows:

Open the NVIDIA control panel (usually located next to the clock in your system tray, bottom right)
Click on "Help" in the top row and click "Debug mode"
What this does, it downclocks your card to the founders edition specs. You would have to enable this every time after a reboot.
The reasoning I have found for this is that ever since one of the driver/windows updates, most games are unable to handle the factory OC cards and will crash after a while. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 1 hour.

In addition, I turned on the Vsyn-c setting and turned off automatic saving. After all this, I tested the game for about 2 hours. Specifically, I went to the points where I observed the game crashing at certain points and tested it. I got into combat and drove wildly, but there is no crash, the game is flowing.I hope these solutions help others.

I had the very same problem yesterday, my game was crashing every 15 minutes. Today I "solved" it: re-installing the game and/or disabling pagefile for the driver where my game is installed solved it...at least for now. I played for almost 2 hours and no crash. In case it will crash again I'll try your solution

Also facing this, tried everything I can find and no dice. Like darkblue, mine were reproducible at the same locations. Second late game character I've nuked because of it. Just wasted two weeks overclocking on a 100% stable setup only for this bug to appear the day I "finished" dialing everything in for the sole purpose of enjoying Path Tracing. I could tolerate the diminishing performance needing restarts every so often but this is literally just game breaking.

The first was 2.01 at the tunnel that goes under the highway toward Pacifica/Dogtown, it'd CTD/freeze once I got through the tunnel near the fast travel point - I notice this location is fine early game but late game it always stutters. I got it a few different places now on 2.1, was testing using a save before stealing one of Muamar's cars. The route took me through Japantown, right past where you find James in "The Highwayman" quest. I turn right off the main road, on the road that's an elevated S curve that sends you into a sort of tunnel through the buildings - CTD happens pretty much dead center under that first building.

My rig: 12700K + DeepCool AK620 HW, EVGA 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra, 16GBx2 G.Skill Trident Z 3600, NZXT N7 Z690 in a Hyte Y60 with as many fans as I could cram in the thing. 1440p @ 75Hz. 850 Evo for Windows, with an 860 Evo and 980 Pro that I work/play games off. Windows 11, usually on the latest updates. None of my testing indicates any issue with my hardware itself.

What I've tried:
-Verifying integrity/deleting every folder possible before verifying
-Nuking EVERYTHING Cyberpunk/CDPR/REDengine related, fresh install
-Admin mode on redlauncher and cyberpunk .exes
-Moving install location between my SSDs
-Messing with folder permissions
-Adding/removing mods and using their log files to debug
-Used tools like Park Control, Process Lasso, HWinfo, LatencyMon, WinDbg to debug/optimize
-Resetting BIOS to factory/updating BIOS/reinstalling mobo drivers
-DDU, clean GPU driver installs
-DDU, debloated GPU drivers using NVCleanInstall
-NVidia control panel tweaks - shader cache, vsync etc
-Deleting all NVidia caches
-Disabling DEP and other features like it
-Undervolting both CPU and GPU
-XMP on/off
-E-cores on/off
-Reinstalling MS dependencies
-Clean install of Windows 11
-Reseating GPU and RAM
-Pagefile tweaks/disable
-Disabling overlays/FPS counters
-Total avoidance of auto/quicksaves, I ONLY use and load from manual saves
-Keeping in-game inventory extremely minimal, selling/recycling just about everything non-critical
-Reloading a previous save if I ever fall through the map or experience a bug rather than continuing
-More I'm forgetting

Sorry I can't offer any logs as I nuked everything again last night but the Cyberpunk crash logs always pointed to "ntdll" and something that stood out was "waitformultipleobjects" or something similar. In unaffected locations, the game runs very well and for several hours. Demanding locations/sequences were a critical part of stress-testing my undervolt/overclock settings. Even modded I could spend an hour in Dogtown with a six star wanted level just mowing down literal armies and MaxTac squad after MaxTac squad while air-dashing like a maniac and self-destructing every vehicle in a quarter mile radius without crashes. These sessions would make Adam Smasher blush with the amount of carnage going on and my rig was a-okay every single time.

Never in my life have I encoutered such a bug, and this is coming from someone with extensive experience modding Bethesda games. My Fallout 4 install is using somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 (no modpacks) and about as stable as vanilla F4. Going to give this game one more shot before I just give up on it. Hopefully I don't run into this again but I'll be back with logs/saves in case I do.
