Yeah me too, I thought it might be mods but ive done a clean install on Cyberpunk and uninstalled and reinstalled my GPU drivers and it still crashes when i try to load a game.

I hope there is a hotfix as if there isnt I will never be able to play this game again

Let me ask about something you did, i.e. please don't construe this as my advice to reinstall the game unless you did that already.

Did you reinstall the game because it got broken by mods? If so, it's possible that some files remained in the game's directory after uninstalling. Maybe you can just delete all mod files to get it going. And, if you decide to try to reinstall again, make sure you wiped the whole directory after uninstalling and before installing again.

14900K + 4090. Exact same issues as OP, never had any mods, just not launching after 2.11-2.12 Done the following:
- Reinstalled
- Deleted the .old usersettings json
- Verified file integrity
- Rolled back my GPU drivers to last december, when it was confirmed working fine on my old machine (used DDU to completely wipe)
- Rolled back latest windows update
- Turned XMP off for my RAM (was tuned 4800=>6000)
- Tried running with only two sticks of ram (to confirm wasn't a memory/hardware issue)
- Ran without launcher
- Did manage to get it open briefly, turned off Ray Tracing Reconstruction (still crashed) - was a suggested fix on Reddit.
- Ran Intel diagnostics on my cpu, Memtest86 on my ram, and confirmed wattage well below my limits (1200).

This appears to be a software problem, and I would like CDPR to provide a solution. It also appears very prevalent in Raptor Lake CPU users, according to Reddit/Toms Hardware.

Exact same issue for me with same setup. Disabled XMP, reset bios to default, even went as far as clean installing Windows 11 & issue persists. Really sucks too because I love this game.

You need to submit a tech support request to CDPR via the means signposted on their website. This is just a discussion forum for users.

Alright so I have a "solution."

It's not great, but it will make the game work at no performance loss. Basically, Oodle compression (which CDPR uses) does not like super-fast, modern processors. They claim it's a hardware issue but I'd strongly argue that it's a failure to adequately support your games on advancing technology. I am a software developer by trade and lemme tell you, you gotta support newer hardware. Okay. My complaining/musing aside.

Solution was derived after referencing this documentation from RadGameTools: Link

This won't get you all the way there; the solution they propose did not work for me. However, after parsing through that, I went into my Intel XTU (Extreme tuning utility) and manually set my multiplier from 57 => 53, which is basically what they mention under "this is reported to have worked" or some such.

(Very cavalier way of saying, "we don't want to prove our product sucks on higher-end rigs, but try this!") - OKAY, done now.

Yes. I know this sucks, but realistically, the game is not going to surpass it's innate bottleneck which exists due to Oodle decompression limitations anyways, so set it to 53, turn off automatic OC. You can try 54-55, but game seems a bit unstable still at those clocks, so I'd stay at 53.

If you don't use XTU just set it manually in your BIOS, though I strongly recommend XTU as it saves you the annoyance of spamming into your BIOS when you're done/ready to play Cyberpunk.

This also corrects the same issue in many Unreal Engine games, which face the same shortcoming due to using Oodle compression.

Game works fine now, runs with everything maxed in 2k at 80-140fps (depending on zone), and that's with truly everything up to 11 (RTO, shading, DLSS, etc) which is where I'd expect a somewhat benchmarky game to sit.

Cheers.
