Game keeps silently crashing, crashreporter fails to launch

So, after having a major crash to desktop, the game is now silently crashing on startup, usually before it gets to even displaying the initial splash screen. The crashlogger is not triggered.

This happens on both modded and unmoded games.

Tried repairing, and the repair tool found nothing wrong. Tried reinstalling twice. Same issue. Any suggestions?

Edit: Second reinstallation was a clean one. Didn't fix it.
Wound up copying the directory from another computer. Whatever reason that worked when a clean install didn't.

Did you try a clean install or "simply" uninstalling the game from the launcher?

One of each. Finally, just copied the entire directory from another computer. Seems to work now.

Thank goodness for external hds, I guess.
