Question: is the Quasar tech-revolver incapable of firing Bolt shots...?

I cannot tell but it doesn't seem to be able to?

Plus it doesn't seem to count as an "automatic Tech weapon" because the instructions in the Bolt tooltop don't work (fire a charged shot then press and hold buitton again to fire more). It acts exactly as the Quasar did before I had Bolt.

It's not the best weapon and it has also a weird long cooldown between partially-charged shots, but I've always liked it. However if it doesn't do Bolt, then, with all its other flaws, it's pretty useless :(

....which also makes me wonder what the insuctions in the Bolt tooltip are on about, as i cannot think of any fully-automatic Tech weapons so i dunno what it's referring to if not the Quasar...

I was never a big fan of tech weapons and since 2.0, I mostly play with blades/knives, but Militech M-76e Omaha isn't fully automatique tech gun?
If I remember and if it didn't change in 2.0, if you hold the trigger and so, charge the shot, you can empty the clip entirely in no time.
There is also the new tech SMG which is fully automatique.

Ah right, i have not started Phantom Liberty yet on this playthrough and forgot there may be new weapons i haven't seen.

Also - yes, the Quasar will, when fully charged, fire the entire magazine at full-auto until empty. However, bolt shots require you to release BEFORE the weapon is fully charged. You can do that - fire a single shot at mostly-charged - with the Quasar, but unlike other Tech weapons, it seems this may NOT result in a "boit" shot as per the Tech talent tree.

Oh well.

....I started this playthrough entirely throwing knives, and i still use them occasionally, but having always done stealthy builds i am going ballistic, so to speak, this time around. Also while using the knives i was like, man i'm finding a lot of cool guns i'm not using xD

There's a total of 3 automatic Tech weapons (With some additional Iconic variants):

The Pistol HA-4 Grit (With its Iconic variant Catahoula)
The Revolver DR-12 Quasar (With its Iconic variant Gris-Gris)
The SMG Senkoh LX (With its Iconic variant Raiju)

As far as getting full-auto Bolt to work with them... I've never been able to sucessfully manage to do it. This is across many playthroughs maining Tech weapons (Since Breakthrough is bae <3 )

I've tried countless times, but no matter what I try I could never get the full-auto bolts like is mentioned in the perk. I could only get the single burst of Bolts, but pressing the trigger afterwards like is stated in the Bolt description never continued to fire.

I don't know if that feature is just not actually implemented, or if the timing is just incredibly precise (I mean, just trying to get bolts off in the first place is hard enough with the extremely low charge time on top of the bonus speed the Bolt perk itself, since with 0.6 seconds to fully charge and miss the Bolt it's not exactly forgiving)

If it's merely an incredibly precise timing thing, then Kerenzikov can help with that as it slows you down too (Unlike Sandy), but I don't know for sure.

I made get a Kerenz and test at some point then (and totally agree about Breakthrough heh <3 ).

If you (or anyone else) didn't know: an indicator lights up in your sights when you're in the Bolt window (and the perk to increase the window is a must). It usually says, depending on the size of the sight, RELEASE or just RLS in a block outline. But you can keep half an eyeball for something to light up then release immediately.

Ofc the low-charge weapons are still tricky, but it helps.

@Tarille
So I just found Raiju and burned a few mags on test-firing.
Unlike other tech weapons, it does NOT show any charge or release indicator in its bespoke sight. However, you CAN - using the button tip on the right of your screen, if you have those on - get a feel for sorta when to release, and if you practice with that, it IS possible to get a feel for the right time (so you can keep eyes on target).

TL;DR it's possible to do as the Bolt tooltip describes, but it's DAMN hard. I did successfully fire a bolt burst followed by continuous, fully-automatic Bolt shots that continued until the mag was empty, as long as i held the trigger.
