BUG CrystalCoat not working

There's a few people on Reddit all with this same problem: the icon for Crystal Coat is visible in the HUD and assigned to the correct button on keyboard/ controller, but Crystal Coat does not activate by pressing any buttons. Any Ideas what could cause this?
