CP2077 in fkng VR - Luke Ross mod - have you seen it?

+
Topic is not new, but diserves a lot more attention. This guy - Luke Ross - made fantastic job creating mod for CP to play it VR. Ofc it requires strong machine to run it on low settings, ofc it's just a mod and it's not that well developed, but I think we should make a bit more noise around it (to convince CDPR to somehow introduce similar option to official version!). Imagine going thru story on VR, watching buildings, vending machines, tents, cars, characters from the full VR. Trippy.

AWESOME.

Didn't run it yet, it was just patched to version 2.01 without full support so I prefer to to wait, there's probably only one guy doing all the work in spare time. His monetization method isn't the best to say it kind, requires 10$ month subsryption on patronite, but project as a whole is stunning.

Does anyone run it already? Know how to install? Required CPU/GPU pair?

All the info is behind paywall, but I read in youtube comments what I said before, that mod is partially patched to 2.01, someone even mentioned that it will not be supported in the future, so mixed feelings about it.

But there is some reference for this mod, highly recommend to watch this guy insights
What he says make some sense, but he reviewed it for older version (which was running better tbh, lower requirements)

And ofc link to Luke Ross funky mod page: https://www.patreon.com/realvr

After several videos from YT I also want to convince CDP to add VR mode to Cyberpunk. VR mode made by Luke Ross has extreamly good opinions. Reviewers compliment the game for details (EVERY ASPECT OF GAME!!! ) saying it is totally new experience of game. . . so why do not extend things a little and praise Night City in VR, to show what you have done. . . maybe in 2.5 patch :)
CDP please remember:

VR is a game changer.

While yes, it's still requires a controller and it's has that gun on the face thing, it's actually better than motion controls because there's so much content that flailing your arms around for hundreds of hours does eventually get tiresome. Walking around the city is really immersive and there are tiny details that don't really POP at you like they do with VR and there's a sense of scale that you just can't have in the regular game.

The best part is driving though... IT'S ABSOLUTELY INSANE! Looking tied to head swivel and not on the right stick is amazing, especially when you're on a bike or that targa top MZ2.

Also did a playthrough of GTAV and that was also a completely different feel, so much so that I can't even get into playing it the regular way. Still remember that first mission after the intro where you have to repo those cars and one of the objectives was to open the power roof, when it was doing the animation, I actually braced myself for the brightness and heat from the sun.

Cyberpunk 2077 in VR is Amazing!

Luke Ross R.E.AL. just works. It cost $10 /month and I have already gotten 2 updates for CP2077 v2.02. Or just cancel your $10 membership after you get the mod. I wasted hours on vorpx before, and it was interesting but the graphics were poorly optimized.
To install you put the un-zip files in the /bin/x86 folder and run the REAL dot bat file. A DOS Window pops open to install the mod. I found the REAL mod looks way better and more immersive.

I had a steep learning curve in VR, but turned it to my advantage. I play Mouse & Keyboard. But in the goggles I am blind and it's easy for my fingers to get lost. So I Taped Bumps on keys W - X - I to find them in the dark.
Now I had to learn how to coordinate my right hand mouse, left hand keyboard and line of sight by aiming my whole head at the crosshairs. It feels just like a Jet Fighter Pilot, or Iron Man Heads Up Display inside of CP2077 VR. I just get the mouse near a target, look right at it, and when the cross hair + turns red I pop the trigger.

I have a core i9-10850K, 32GB, RTX3060Ti, HP Reverb G2 (2160x2160 @90Hz per eye).
I tuned the settings to max res, lower quality, DLSS performance.
I get solid 60 FPS in the CP2077 benchmark. TBH, I wanted a 4070Ti... now I have a reason to save for one.
90 FPS in Ultra quality would be nice?

I customized my Netrunner Rig for my new adventures as VR-V today.

Heard of it and the game lends itself perfectly to VR given the total FPP. I can imagine it's quite the experience!

I don't see CDPR adding it natively until some far off Prokect Orion update though.

My favorite VR moment so far:

I had just defeated boss Kurt Hansen when Solomon Reed calls me "I will be outside". I get outside and a car screeches up. 'Get In'. So I get in and I am admiring how nice this car looks in VR. Taking it all in.
Then i slowly scan to the left and...
I'm sitting next to Idris 'Frickkin' Elba and he looks annoyed. Like 'Well get on with it.'
Oh yeah. I'm still playing a game. 'Let's go Solomon."

The facial expressions, voice acting and animation were spot on even up close.
We aren't in the uncanny valley anymore. The VR felt real.

I signed into the forums for the first time just now genuinely just to beg the devs for official VR support. Seems this is the only related thread about it. Vorpx and Luke Ross are nice, but...man if CDPR decided to do an actual VR option, it would be such a literal game changer. The mods just don't do it for me. Frankly I don't even care much about 6DOF and am happy to play with a controller instead, I just want clean visuals without weird artifacting, head aiming, etc.

I haven't bought the DLC yet tbh because I'm still a little sour from launch. But as a comparison, No Man's Sky (whose launch was even worse than this) added official VR support (among numerous big updates), and for me, VR specifically turned that game from a forgettable and repetitive open world game into my most played game of all time. If CDPR did something similar for this, a game which inherently lends itself SO WELL to virtual reality, I would instantly buy the DLC no matter the price and would probably pour hundreds of hours into it. I'm sure I'm not alone, either.

Thank you for listening to my TED talk. lol

The game has this thing about traveling to another place, it's something it does well from the start. It is completely walkable. Streets feature pedestrian crossings and working lights, interactive curbs and stylish interactive lanes in better-funded neighborhoods. Cars are polished down to the smallest sticker, roads are illuminated by neon lights and apartment blocks are formed in the style of socialist realism (brought to the world along with poverty and the scale of cheap municipal construction). The city center is only cleaned in main traffic passages, when 20 steps further there are homeless and lot of garbages. The game includes references to places like SkidRow and Hong Kong, districts are filled to the top with meaningful places for other people, like shops, bars and stalls. I won't forget the first time I visited Fingers, when there were guys sitting in front of the block and junkies wandering around the ground floor in the building. The scene where you ask a prostitute to let you in as a first in the queue because you are in a hurry, and she shows understanding and tries to help. It's consistent and there are many moments you can go thru like in a interactive movie.

I like it, think that VR would only expand it. I was a big fan of adding the subway, I knew it would completely revamp the feel of the city. Big fan of walking button for keyboards, cars would make use of it also btw. And now I'm waiting for buses (laugh).

VR would be the next such step (like the subway).

In my opinion, the company will not do this. Everyone who was supposed to play the game has already finished it, only a small group of people remain who will now buy it on sale. Mod/extension would be activated by 7 of us and 4 other people, most of whom would play it for 3 hours and launch Baldur or return to their children.

Although I would be very happy : )) I played 260 hours already, playing second time since first day of launch, haven't finished yet (really). And I really like to travel. Visited with my partner many countries already, mostly in Europe but been in 4 African conutries, one Asia/Arab and planing America. Want to visit Hong Kong one day, or maybe at least Japan. So I like walking, watching. Just walk forward without a map, see what people doing, where they're going, how they do it. And if VR CP would be a thing, I'd show it to my Ania, because CB is trippy and she's not much of a gamer : )

But (and here is my conclusion) the game has artifacts in VR which look terrible and frames don't hold very well. I have the impression that I would need a processor, something like Ryzen 5800x3d instead of i5 11400f at 65W. My 3080 seems to hold up, but how can I be certain. Haven't play Luke Ross mod, used some other which was less expesive to see at least is it worth my money. So I haven't pay for it and I think it's not worth it, or this mod I was using was so badly executed.

I'll come back in two generations of GPUs and see how does. We all know it will be one day awesome . Until then - mods, that's my opinion.

after a long break I started my second play through, how awesome this would be in VR. If there was a psvr2 version I would buy it immediately again.
