Nothing that you can do by yourself. In worst case, if the description is even "longer" and is higher than the inventory screen, more likely with the iconic weapons which have a longer text, on the bottom (legendary with all mod slots used), the whole description can completely disappear (and the comparison too).
It's like that since day one on all platforms, so not sure it can be fixed... But you can send a ticket to the support if it's not already done ("contact us" button).
