What do you think are the best combinations and must-haves? Given the limited amount of points to level up, usually you can only concentrate on two areas, plus maybe a secondary third. I've played twice but found that I ended up with the same build both times. Maxed technical and intelligence, 10 body, 15 reflexes and 6 cool. In technical the emphasis was in crafting. If you really want the legendary epic versions of stuff you need a lot of crafting. In intelligence it was about 50/50 hacking and breach. Intelligence lets you open a lot of doors. Hacking is really the way to go IMO, it's the "magic user" of Cyberpunk 77 and can resolve most things. I feel that not having a very good level of hacking will cut you out from a lot of stuff from not being able to hack computers. High-level hacking will also let you waltz through battles from hiding, just cyberpsych one guy, suicide the other, overheat the other, etc. Almost too easy.
In Reflexes I went three-way, fortunately the three weapons that I like to use are in this same area, pistol/rifle/sword, I invested more or less the same in each and became more or less proficient in all to use in different situations, but not really expert in any one type. Maybe I should have concentrated in one type, but I really like to switch weapons depending on need, not only here but in most RPG's.
Body focuses on the weapons that I don't use, very conveniently; unarmed, blunt, shotgun and machinegun. I only applied a few athletics perks that are of general benefit.
Finally I can't find any use for Cool. I only invested in two perks, crouching tiger and hidden dragon. However I'm a master of stealth- I resolve a lot of missions using stealth but using my own ability with no perks. Cool hardly seems necessary or that useful. I wonder if somebody has found it of great use.
Having taken the same path twice though I'm thinking of a radically different approach, but I don't know, I fear that I might not able to resolve everything with no hacking ability for example. Or investing a lot in cool and stealth and concentrate on swords? I wonder. But if I'm not good at crafting I will have to make do with what the game throws at me, unable to upgrade the weapons. Or if I'm not technical I won't be able to open doors. The doors that are opened with strength are much less than those that open with technical. Maybe the game channels you down a best path, with other options being inferior? Hmm...
