[Error] "Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined" on game launch (Resolved)

+
Hello.
Yesterday i had no problems launching the game when it was still on 1.63 patch from GoG Launcher. After that i updated to 2.0, clicked Play, the button greyed out and few moments later the error "Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined" poped up. Decided first to use Repair / Verify options for the game files, but after doing that when trying to launch the game again, got the same error. Today i decided to reinstall the game hoping to fix the problem, i did that but no... after that the same error poped up again. I have the latest nvidia graphic drivers updated also.

My system:
Windows 10 Pro, version - 22H2, OS build - 19045.3448
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 Super
The game is installed on a m.2 SSD as well. Same as before the 2.0 patch.

I don't use mods and always been playing on a 1080p resolution btw.

Today i noticed something else as well. Tried to launch the game 2 times in the last few mins and both times i saw this error in the Event Viewer. Maybe that could help in someway to identify my problem.

Gotta be something related to the game or launcher or server if it says "The server name we were expecting is legacy-config.live.cdpred.services." that is part of this message.

Another thing is that i see the game running in the processes tab in task manager window when i click play, but without opening. (before i receive the same error over and over again)

Hey there,

I had this issue too, till i deinstalled my avira free antivir. Now its running. Maybe its helpful for you.

I hoped that Phantom Liberty pre-load will change anything but no. Still the same "Watchdog Timeout" message error from the crash report. And engineWatchdog problematic file.

Same here bros, it crashes then after a couple of times the game starts up, then after I quit and try to reenter it crashes again.

Today i've decided to rollback the nvidia graphic update to the previous one which is 573.13. Successfully launched the game once and i played for 1-2 hrs then stopped. Later in the evening i decided to launch the game again aaaand the same error poped up again. The same crash report about that engineWatchdog... Watchdog Timeout. I got no other ideas at the momemt, what other options i have in order to fix this error.

Haven't dealt with anything like this before so if any1 can understand this that would be sick as I have been excited to play
Mine is this

I'm happy to say i resolved my problem by deleting most of my save slots, because i had nearly 100 of them. I kept the most important ones (one for each of my 3 playthroughts) and today i launched the game 2 times already. I hope this was the only reason for that error.

Sadly, today the same error as i can't launch the game again :(

I don't know it this helps, but I'll share the problem I experienced.

Last week I downloaded and installed the build of 2.0 that came out then, and it runs on my PC without issues.
However, this week Phantom Liberty requires a new patch (2.0 to Build_4902785Change_6408866_with_EP1_RL). After installing this patch, the game flatlines on launch, every time, exactly as the game starts displaying the Red Engine logo. Every time, exact same place.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times testing this. 2.0 works great for me but Build_4902785Change_6408866 does not work at all.
So, until this is fixed, I'll only be playing vanilla 2.0 without Phantom Liberty.

i experienced the same issue.

using a 'skip intro & breaching' mod allows me to pass straight to the main menu where i can successfully load the game.

You can also contact support directly and let them know:

You can contact them by clicking on Contact us.

The more info you can give them the more likely they will be able to reproduce the issue.

Yes, it's difficult to fix what they don't know about.

I submitted a support ticket through GoG, explaining as much detail as I could my problem with the latest patch, and attached a DxDiag dump, so they have all the relevant info on my PC.

Yeah same. I submitted ticket to technical support earlier with my problem and also a link to this thread too for all the details shared here.

Everything remains the same. The last thing left for me is to hope some future patch to fix the problem. Did everything on my side and can't think of any other possible solution.

My workaround is to open the game with Gog galexy. It work everytime. Though the game is much buggy after the PL update.

Yesterday i've reinstalled the gog galaxy client and after that i managed to launch the game again, but today is the same story all over again. The same crash as in the last couple of days:

Error Reason: Assert
Expression:
Message: Watchdog timeout! (120 seconds)
File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\engine\src\engineWatchdog.cpp
Line: 198

No idea what happened that allowed me to start the game. Just wanted to share this.
Btw i have zero problems while playing the game (when it allows me)... it's just when trying to start the game this crash pops up after over a min or 2 when i click play button.

i've seen quite a few people with this issue now.

the patch, (67690) > (67718), appears to replace GameServicesGOG.dll with a bad version.
deleting this file will allow the game to launch but disables any saves with Phantom Liberty content.

replacing with the previous (67690) version seems to be the only current fix that fully works.
