Some simple ways to improve crafting options.

+
Plain and simple, let us learn how to make something by taking it apart.
It could be a perk, but the option should be there. It should also allow us to make versions for EVERY TIER. So you learn to make a weapon and you can make it from common to legendary. It's already costing a ton to make it at the higher tiers, so there's no point it making it damn near impossible for players to get blueprints of that quality. If they have the bits, they should be able to make it.

For clothing, it would be simple. You take something apart and you learn how to make it. This would allow players to craft items they like the look of, without being stuck wearing random trash because it's got better stats.

For weapons, I'd say make it take several. Maybe 5 or so. You need to take apart that many before you get the blueprint and can make your own.

And to improve the customization, add a "skin" option in the inventory.
Every item you take apart adds that specific look as an unlock for the item. So if you get say a red version of a gun, taking it apart gets you that specific look, which would allow you to change the appearance of any gun of that type to match that look.
This would especially be useful for clothing. You get a jacket and take apart variants to be able to change the specific look you want (rather than having to find one of a specific color/pattern of a decent rank).

This would VASTLY improve the crafting system, as it would give players far more choices and let them customize their appearance as they please, which was always supposed to be a thing.
