Standard resolution not available in-game

+
Hi. I haven't played cyberpunk since it first came out. I am not sure when this problem started happening but I am having an issue where the only resolutions in cyberpunk are square. I have an NVIDIA 3080TI.
This is strange because the game actually cuts off the top and the bottom almost like a letterbox overflow. When i try to play the game, i can barely see the map.
My native resolution is 3840x2160. That SHOULD be an oiption in the game settings. Instead, i see 3840x3840, and similar resolutions scaling down. The only normail resolution i see is 1920x1080 but that looks like crap.

I have tried manually setting the resolution in the usersettings.json file but that did nothing.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hello everyone. I can only post in this thread since I'm new.
I haven't played the game since last year and today was trying to play it again. When I launched the game my screen resolution was messed up and in setting there was no my native resolution.

I'm running RTX 4080 with 2560x1440 monitor

The settings I have in game are:
1065x1056
1184x1184
1280x720
1344x1344
1504x1504
1696x1696
1920x1080
1920x1920
2160x2160
2432x2432
2736x2736
3088x3088
3472x3472
3920x3920

Already tried this:
Reinstalling the game with deleting everything from AppData cyberpunk 2077 configs
Updating drivers
Making sure that windows is launching the game with RTX 4090
Making sure my monitor is the primary one with native resolution set to 2560x1440
Making sure nvidia setting are at default for cyberpunk.exe
Trying to apply proper setting in geforce experience app (they are applying, but the game still launches in wrong resolution)
Trying to hard code 2560x1440 resolution in UserSettings.json file (no effect, the game still launches in wrong resolution)
Reading multiple threads on internet. Nobody seems to have any solution to this.

Maybe someone experiences the same thing as I do? Please help to find a workaround for that.

That's quite strange, as are the resolutions that are popping up for you. 2560x1440 is a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, and should be there. There are several standard resolutions missing from that list, and several non-standard ones listed.

0.) Are you using any mods, or have you ever used any in the past?

1.) Do you have any Global Settings tweaked in Nvidia Control Panel? Alternatively, the same using something like RTSS?

2.) Where are you downloading the drivers from?

3.) Is your monitor's native resolution 2560x1440, or is it something like an ultra-widescreen / 4K / etc but Windows Desktop is set to 2560x1440?

4.) Are you experiencing any related issues in other games, or is this exclusive to CP2077?

Two friends of mine had this issue.

One of them had a drawing tablet connected. The game defaulted to his drawing tablet's resolution for whatever reason. No amount of tinkering fixed it and it took him a while to figure it out but the second he disconnected it, CP2077 detected his monitor's native resolution just fine. Is there any other type of device with a display connected to your PC?

The other one was running a multi monitor setup and had his screen's setting set to duplicated. Changing that to extended fixed it for him. Note that all three of his monitors are 4K displays and there was no reason to be stuck at the 1080p he was stuck at in CP2077.

It may be just a matter of the game interacting with multi-display systems, indeed. But still, quite weird. Any idea why it would restrict the resolutions to the drawing tablet's weird 4:4 ones?

No clue whatsoever. We had a few ideas but none of them turned out to be right. The friend in question is also a 14 years software engineer vet, he knows his way around PCs very well and he never could figure it out. It was also exclusive to CP2077. Also worth noting he spoke with others with drawing tablets that did not have the same problem.

Clearly it was some issue that was specific to his setup/hardware and the way the game interact with it but it seems to be such a one in a million type deal that figuring out why is so overly complicated that he just gave up and simply unplugs his tablet whenever he wants to play.

I'm at a total loss with this one. In the modern day, I would expect that any available but non-native aspect ratio would simply scale when selected. I don't get how or why the resolutions would simply fail to appear.

Here's a thought:
@dukeen , head to your Nvidia Control Panel and check what these options are set to.

What is the maximum resolution available under the "Resolution" tab. If you have a 1440p monitor, but somehow these resolutions are available:
2160x2160
2432x2432
2736x2736
3088x3088
3472x3472
3920x3920
...then it likely means that either DSR is running or that your monitor is actually a 4K monitor, not 1440p.

(Still, none of these things should prevent standard resolutions from showing up.)
