UPDATE TO PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

+
I still think it's because they wanted to be safe with new purchases rather than because of additional features or systems.
This is the best reason anyone has given tbh. They could flat out say that our game requires high end Gaming PCs and it will not work as intended in lower/medium end PCs. Saying this would cause mayhem in the community since the game is almost three years old at this point. So it's better to come up with an excuse.

I guess I should be ok.

Ryzen 5 6 Core
RTX 3050
Ram 32 gigs
SSD 2TB

I might buy a Ryzen 7 8 Core
and up my ram to 128 gigs.

Well if you have 3 tb data im guessing it doesnt ALL need too be on a SSD? Porn is fine on a HDD for example ;)
lmao.

Nice, man. Very nice.
How will REDmod mods be supported under Patch 1.7? Will the patch break them, or will they be untouched ?

If it has no external requirements then it will be fine. But if it needs CET or red4ext to function; Yes, it will break the redmods.
Archive mods that just replace/add something to the game such as an appearance or modify the weather will be fine as well.

EDIT: Actually, considering how extensive changes to the game may be - even a large number of independent REDmods may turn out broken by 1.7.

I have a Ryzen 7 5700G, 16gb ram, RTX 3060 (12gb vram), 256 NVMe, 1TB SSD, and a 4TB HDD. I think most likely i will have to play at min settings. As long as i can still run the game i am happy

just to add to this it will run ok ish on a ryzen 5 2600x and a rtx 3050 with ray tracing enabled at about 25 to 30 fps in some spots and up to 60 in others

So my 5800x3D + RTX 4080 for 3440x1440 is now below Recommended requirements considering an AM5 is required for 1080P... OUCH

I think you guys are missing one of the most important lines of this announcement:

"It's important to highlight that it doesn't mean the game will stop working on the previous minimum requirements. However, following the next update to the base game we will discontinue active support for them and stop testing the game on those setups."

The original minimum requirements are still the true ones for the game. This update to the minimum requirements is to prevent people saying "the game runs like dogshit on my system", when they don't even meet them. They are just creating a bigger safety net against the complainers.

If you met the previous minimum requirements, all you're losing is the ability to complain if something does go wrong for you performance wise. But performance wise, in it's purest form, the game should run absolutely the same as it did before PL. This text update (not actual hardware requirement update) is just so CDPR can say "well, we never tested for your hardware, and we never will, so we can't say why the game runs weirdly on your system neither are we responsible".

It's scummy for sure, but PL isn't killing previous hardware.

Yea not really, if your under the new minimum req they can just say well what do you expect when the game crashes or runs like shit. Support is gone for it pretty much. They will not be testing the game on that hardware, if it doesnt run for you. Too bad! I get why people are a bit pissed off tbh, but it kinda hade too happend. It will be interesting too se how it runs on the consoles...

It still feels like it will be an unoptimized mass.

CDPR putting those requirments showes that they want to supposedly warn people that it is unoptimized lolol.

Since I don't see cyberpunk needing those CPUs 12700 and 12900k for 1080p and the new Ryzen 7 series lololol, with all the supposed upgrades making the 7 intel series in low and 10 series as high would have made more sense.

Me being Ms captain obvious, 30 fps is a sad number.
Too low for my liking... above all in view of quality graphics compared to performance mode which double the framerate. Just my opinion, but quality mode is not worth it. And I didn't play any game since more than 2 years in which it was worth it anyway :giggle:

How is my PC going to fare with this update?
Ideally id like to run at 60 fps capped and 1080p, I'm hoping i can run medium/high and no ray tracing. If i can run better than this please also tell me, I'm genuinely curious how I'm going to fare. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance! ^-^

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor (12 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660
Vram : 6GB
Ram: 32GB
SSD: 70GB

1080p 60 at med seem like you should be right there, the specs as written grossly over spec the CPU.

This is what I want to believe as well. CP77 already ran almost bearably on systems below even old minimum specs. I don't know what needs to be done to the engine to actually warrant such a leap.

CD Projekt RED Are you too lazy to make new graphics as a separate DLC for the choice of whoever wants to download it why force everyone to switch to this graphics anyway there will be no more additions why do this towards people who do not have powerful PCs

The other problem that I see, which is not CDPR's fault, is that it is not a great time to invest in a new graphic card.

The 4080 is a terrible gen to gen proposition at the suggested MSRP.

The 4070TI fair a bit better, but retails at the usual price of xx80 series.

The 4070 is basically on par with a 3080 12gb, albeit being a bit cheaper. That would be my choice, but it feels wrong to pay that much for a xx70.

Line up and pricing this gen is... Not appealing at all.

let this update with graphics be the choice for everyone to download it, why force everyone to switch to nivot, let only DLS and new mechanics make it available to everyone and not this graphics

I am all for this if possible. Sense I don't know much about game development I am not sure they can actually separate graphics from the core mechanics of the game. I think it is built in with it.
